Nestle USA | Consumer Packaged Goods | 44000 | $13.5B | United States | Transporeon | Sixfold by Transporeon | Real-Time Transportation Visibility | 2019 | n/a | In 2019, Nestle USA implemented Sixfold by Transporeon as a Real-Time Transportation Visibility solution to centralize transport management that had previously been decentralized across countries and business units. The deployment targeted transport operations, carrier management, tendering, contracting, and daily execution workflows to provide a single pane of glass for operational decision making across the company. The implementation leveraged Sixfold by Transporeon core capabilities including predictive ETA generation, live truck tracking, a cloud based control tower, smart dashboards for exception handling, and reporting and analytics for carrier performance and CO2 visibility. Sixfold’s prediction engine augmented telemetry, map and weather inputs to produce proactive alerts and predictive statuses, reducing manual effort required to identify and manage transport journeys. Integrations were established between Sixfold and Nestle’s transport and fleet management processes, enabling shippers and carriers to feed status and telemetry into the platform with minimal manual work. Operational coverage extended across Nestle’s European transport network, with usage focused on planning, execution oversight, stop and wait time analysis, and border crossing monitoring during periods of heightened disruption such as the COVID19 pandemic. Governance shifted toward centralized coordination of transport management, with the control tower and exception focused dashboards driving new operational workflows and carrier oversight practices. The rollout emphasized quick onboarding of key carriers to unlock visibility rapidly and used reporting to standardize measurement of service levels, carrier quality, and environmental indicators. Explicit results from the case study include improved service levels and customer satisfaction, a decrease in manual operational resources needed to identify and handle transport journeys, increased supply chain stability and flexibility in times of disruption, and improved supply chain efficiency including environmental sustainability. Nestle and Sixfold also published aggregated border crossing time data to aid broader industry planning, a public dataset that reached a large audience during the crisis. | |
