The deployment targeted Learning and Development for the organization’s three million volunteers across the United States and was delivered through a partnership with Kineo. The implementation used Totara LMS to enable a blended learning approach combining eLearning courses and live webinars, providing volunteers with access to learning content at home and on personal devices. Kineo customized the look and navigation of the system, creating a branded interface based on the ACS public website to improve usability for a wide age range of volunteers. Functional capabilities implemented included course delivery, webinar facilitation, branded user experience, and self-service access to learning resources, aligning with common Learning and Development workflows such as enrollment, content consumption, and learner navigation. The initiative was launched as an online learning center in Chicago, Illinois in September 2013 and was positioned for nationwide volunteer access. Governance and rollout emphasis focused on user-centered configuration and navigation to drive adoption among volunteers, with Kineo responsible for implementation and interface customization. Reported results from ACS leadership included highly positive volunteer feedback on ease of use and the system’s effectiveness in helping volunteers find required training.
