Lindt & Sprungli (USA) | Consumer Packaged Goods | 2000 | $804M | United States | SAP | SAP S/4 Hana - Inventory Management | Inventory Management | 2020 | n/a | In 2020, Lindt & Sprungli (USA) implemented SAP S/4 Hana - Inventory Management to establish a consolidated Inventory Management capability for warehouse and stock control processes. The program was executed from within a newly formed SAP team in the company Information Technology group, with a multi-year delivery horizon spanning initial implementations and ongoing operational support over a three to seven year planning window. The implementation centered on SAP S/4 Hana - Inventory Management and included configuration of Extended Warehouse Management, S/4 HANA Material Management, Procurement, and core Inventory Management functions. Design work emphasized RF scan gun frameworks, RF configuration, barcoding, batch management, goods movement, cycle counting, and outbound and inbound delivery document workflows, with a focus on using native S/4 capabilities to limit customizations. Integrations were specified to support end to end business processes, including explicit interfaces and dependencies between Inventory/Warehouse functions and SAP Financials, Sales and Distribution, and Production Planning. Procurement connections to accounts payable and stock transport order processing were part of the scope, and the program included management of third party warehouse vendors and system touch points to support RF and pick/pack/ship operations across the company’s warehouse and logistics operations. Governance and operationalization covered definition of technical and functional standards, conversion of requirements into program specifications, and comprehensive testing including unit and integration tests. Post go live support expectations included ticketed application support, training for end users, facilitation of change requests, and contribution to roadmap and strategy planning, with project delivery activities requiring approximately 30% travel. | |
