Humana | Insurance | 65680 | $117.8B | United States | Oracle | Oracle Cloud Inventory Management | Inventory Management | 2017 | n/a | In 2017, Humana implemented Oracle Cloud Inventory Management as part of a broader Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM initiative supporting the HUMANA Commercial Growth business group. The project was executed with a consultative approach where fit gap analysis, solution design, process flows, pilot sessions, configuration, functional specifications, testing, user training, deployment and ongoing support were performed by Oracle Cloud SCM consultants, aligning the Oracle Cloud Inventory Management application to Insurance industry supply chain needs. The implementation covered a broad set of modules and configuration work in the Inventory Management category, including Order Management, Inventory, Purchasing, Bills of Materials, Shipping Execution, Work in Process, MRP and MPS planning. Specific configuration tasks included Min Max planning, BOM plans, execution and release jobs, BOM data collection and sourcing, installation demand and forecast processing, WIP setups and costing, and simplification of ATP and sourcing rules for improved scheduling accuracy. Integrations and interfacing work were substantial and explicitly included EDI order flows and acknowledgments using standards such as 850, 855, 856, 753 and 754, an Order Import process with post validation, and interfaces exchanging order pick information with an existing IDS legacy shipping system for picking and pick confirmation reconciliation. Functional integrations tied Project costing and billing into General Ledger and SLA, connected iSupplier to PO and AP workflows, and linked Order Management to OM and AR processes. Data conversion activities supported adding ledgers and operating units and backend testing leveraged SQL queries and data load tools. Governance and rollout practices followed structured testing and release cycles with CRP, SIT, UAT and production cutover planning, supported by prepared training documentation and standard operating procedures. The delivery model included onsite coordination with technical, functional and testing teams and liaison work to help offshore teams understand cloud data conversions, customizations and cloud integrations. Post go live activities included production support for stuck transaction resolution, collaboration with development teams to remediate code defects and implement necessary functional enhancements. | |
