Flash, a Redspher Company | Transportation | 700 | $300M | Netherlands | PTV Group | PTV Map&Guide | Route Accounting | 2015 | n/a | In 2015, Flash, a Redspher Company implemented PTV Map&Guide as a core component of its Route Accounting tooling to support transport planning and routing across Flash Europe International. The engagement was led from Maastricht and surroundings, reporting to the CIO, with a hands on implementation manager responsible for applications and interfaces outside the in house planning application. PTV Map&Guide was configured to provide map material and routing intelligence, including card material upgrades, kilometer and driving time calculations, and toll and core routing modules for the planning stack. The deployment emphasized the PTV Map&Guide routing engine as the canonical source for distance and time matrices used by planning workflows. The implementation integrated PTV Map&Guide with existing operational components, notably EDI standardization using Lobster and the Roberts Europe in house planning software which received position and routing data. Supporting systems in the environment included an Android carrier app and web portal that supplied position updates to the planning system and received planning updates, and development and runtime artifacts built on .NET, C#, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL. Workstreams included phasing of application, database and server landscape from Roberts Europe to the Flash Europe operational footprint. Governance and operational ownership were formalized under a single implementation manager who retained application management responsibilities after go live, including contract management for ICT suppliers. The project followed Agile SCRUM practices with roles covering product owner and certified SCRUM Master, and included hands on technical and functional application management for PTV Map&Guide and related interfaces. Business functions impacted included transport planning, carrier operations, and EDI operations, with PTV Map&Guide serving as the route accounting and routing reference used by planners and downstream carrier communications. | |
