Kuwait National Petroleum Company(KNPC) | Oil, Gas and Chemicals | 6573 | $3.3B | Kuwait | Suprema | Suprema BioStar 2 TA | Time and Attendance | 2018 |
In 2018 Kuwait National Petroleum Company implemented Suprema BioStar 2 TA for Time and Attendance. The deployment synchronized up to 90,000 user identities across more than 500 biometric devices, and implementation partner Ideal Information managed the rollout. The project included migration from BioStar 1 to Suprema BioStar 2 TA.
Suprema BioStar 2 TA was configured as the central biometric authentication and attendance collection layer, with fingerprint and face recognition modalities enabled across devices. Functional configuration emphasized device enrollment, user template management, scheduled data polling, and centralized T&A processing to support shift and attendance record consolidation.
The solution integrated biometric authentication with KNPC s Time and Attendance Control System TACS and the corporate HR systems to automate attendance data flows and reduce manual reconciliation. Operational coverage spanned KNPC sites, consolidating device events and user records into centralized attendance databases for payroll and workforce management downstream.
Governance followed a phased migration model with large scale device enrolment and central administration handled by the implementation team. The deployment delivered fast centralized T&A processing and improved authentication performance across KNPC sites.

Kuwait National Petroleum Company(KNPC) | Oil, Gas and Chemicals | 6573 | $3.3B | Kuwait | Suprema | Suprema FaceStation 2 | Time Clock (Hardware) | 2018 |
In 2018, Kuwait National Petroleum Company implemented Suprema FaceStation 2 as part of a Time Clock (Hardware) deployment to centralize time and attendance across its refineries and retail sites. The project was delivered with system integrator Ideal Information and targeted synchronization of approximately 90,000 employee records to more than 500 devices, incorporating 19 FaceStation 2 units and 522 BioStation A2 units in the hardware footprint.
BioStar 2 was installed as the central access and attendance platform, and the Suprema Migration Tool was used to migrate users, transaction logs and image logs from a customized BioStar 1 instance, preserving historical biometric records. The implementation configured DB to device and device to DB auto synchronization, centralized the T&A database, and enabled fingerprint, face recognition and RFID authentication workflows to support high throughput clocking.
Ideal integrated BioStar 2 with KNPC Time Attendance Control System and HR applications to ensure user profile and event log consistency across systems, and activated the Suprema mobile application for remote device status and transaction monitoring. A customized device theme was applied to BioStation A2 and FaceStation 2 units to align interface design with KNPC branding, and the deployment covered operational use across multiple departments and facilities.
The migration of BioStar 1 data removed the need to reenter historic records, and the stabilized auto synchronization and fast authentication reduced user transaction time and lowered authentication retries. Integration with TACS and HR simplified management and control of T&A processes across departmental levels, while the centralized BioStar 2 database provided a single maintenance point for the time and attendance system.
