In 2011, AriZona Beverage Company implemented SAP BusinessObjects within an SAP BI 7.0 deployment, categorized under Analytics and BI. The rollout complemented an existing SAP ERP footprint and included SAP Telesales solutions developed by IBM to support route sales and reporting workflows.
SAP BusinessObjects and SAP BI 7.0 were configured to run alongside SAP ERP to deliver operational reporting and production analytics. Functional scope emphasized route settlement processing, telesales reporting, and consolidated SAP reporting, enabling the organization to centralize BI consumption and operational reporting within the SAP BusinessObjects environment.
The deployment was hosted on IBM Power Systems 720 Express servers running the IBM i operating system with integrated IBM DB2 for database services. The architecture used PowerVM virtualization and PowerHA clustering for availability, and incorporated FileNet Content Collector for SAP, InfoSphere Change Data Capture, and WebSphere Portal to support content management, change data integration, and portal delivery for business users.
IBM Global Business Services and IBM Business Partner VSS supported the implementation and operational handover. Operational coverage targeted route accounting, telesales, and IT operations, and documented outcomes included elimination of stability and performance issues, a reduction in route settlement labor from 12 people for ten hours to five people for five hours representing a 79 percent efficiency improvement, a 14 percent increase in route sales, and an estimated 50 percent reduction in maintenance and license expenses with projected three year savings near $100,000.
