Department of Premier and Cabinet NSW | Government | 894 | $289M | Australia | ServiceNow | ServiceNow ITSM | IT Service Management | 2017 |
In 2017 Department of Premier and Cabinet NSW implemented ServiceNow ITSM as part of a GovConnect program to deliver centralized IT Service Management across agencies, deploying ServiceNow ITSM to support agency IT portals and service workflows. The rollout was executed under the IT Service Management category and was part of a multi-agency transition coordinated by the Department of Finance and Innovation and Unisys.
The implementation of ServiceNow ITSM consolidated a new user portal and service catalogue and implemented core ITSM modules, asset discovery, event management, Automation using ITOM Orchestration, a CMP for hybrid cloud, and billing and reporting delivered via Power BI. The program was delivered as a $2 million project and explicitly delivered ServiceNow ITSM capabilities including the portal, service catalogue, ITSM modules, discovery and event management.
Unisys worked with the Department of Finance and Innovation and Dimension Data to transition agency IT portal services from Remedy to ServiceNow ITSM, and to implement underlying network and SD-WAN changes required for agency relocations. Network changes accepted into supporting systems included DHCP configuration, firewall and routing updates, Wireless LAN Controller tuning, Network WAN support, LAN network switch adjustments and Call Manager changes, reflecting an integrated infrastructure and ITSM delivery effort.
Governance and delivery were structured around multi-disciplinary teams led by Unisys, including business analysts, architects, engineers, change managers and test managers, operating with virtual teams and Scrum methodology. The workstreams were coordinated to engage business leaders, define phased success criteria for scope, quality, budget and time, and to manage integrations and multiple concurrent project streams across GovConnect agencies including NSW Treasury, Service NSW, DFSI, NSW Fair Trading, Industrial Relations, Barangaroo Delivery Authority, Corporate Services, Department of Premier and Cabinet, IPART, the Office of the Secretary and the Telco Authority.

NSW Police Force/NSW Police | Government | 20395 | $3.7B | Australia | Mark43 | Mark43 CAD | Computer Aided Dispatch | 2020 |
In 2020, NSW Police Force initiated implementation of Mark43 CAD as the Computer Aided Dispatch component of its integrated policing operation system IPOS. The 2020 program positioned Mark43 CAD as the phase one deliverable intended to consolidate triple zero call intake, dispatch coordination, and frontline incident reporting into a cloud-native, mobile-first dispatch architecture managed by NSW Police information and technology leadership.
Mark43 CAD was configured to support call intake and computer-aided dispatch workflows, integrated crime reporting, and embedded forensic management designed to enable near real-time DNA sample processing. Adjacent functional modules scheduled as part of the broader IPOS roadmap included investigation management, evidence and forensic data management, charge and custody management, and case management, aligning dispatch activities with investigation and custody workflows.
The implementation involved a delivery partnership between Mark43 and Unisys, with Unisys acting as an integration and delivery partner for the central IPOS program. The IPOS program specified MuleSoft as the integration platform to enable real-time exchanges with federal systems and other jurisdictions, extending operational connectivity from NSW Police call centers and frontline units to external law enforcement systems and international feeds where required.
Program governance was structured as a multi-year, three-phase program with an 18 month timeline for the initial Computer Aided Dispatch phase, executed in iterative sprints under NSW Police IT leadership. The rollout emphasized cloud-native deployment, mobile-first user experiences for frontline officers, and phased orchestration across emergency call handling and frontline operational units, with the stated organizational objective of shifting police activity toward preventing and disrupting crime.
