In 2010, ABL Life Insurance Korea implemented SAP HCM (HR) as its Core HR system to consolidate employee master data and formalize HR transactional processing for the company’s Korea workforce. The deployment established a central HR platform under the insurer’s IT organization, aligning HR administration and payroll processing with enterprise SAP standards.
The SAP HCM (HR) implementation encompassed core modules typical of a Core HR landscape, including personnel administration, organizational management, payroll and time management, and was provisioned with SAP Enterprise Portal for employee and manager self-service access. The technical estate was maintained on an SAP NetWeaver stack with SAP Basis operations supporting system administration, transport management and performance tuning, reflecting the in-house Basis and portal skills present on the IT team.
Operationally the HCM solution was integrated with the insurer’s SAP financial and specialty modules as managed by internal teams, with payroll accounting posted into SAP FI/CO and related benefit and asset processes coordinated with SAP FAM and the SAP Loan Module, consistent with the team’s cross-module SAP experience. Program governance was executed through internal IT PL, IT PM and PMO roles, with senior SAP administrators responsible for ongoing configuration, change control and operational support of SAP HCM (HR) within ABL Life Insurance Korea.

In 2018 ABL Life Insurance Korea deployed Merimen e-Claims, a Merimen Ventures application in the Insurance Claims Management category, establishing a centralized claims processing platform for the 900 employee insurer in South Korea. The implementation positioned Merimen e-Claims as the primary system for claim intake and lifecycle management across the companys claims operations and customer service functions.

The implementation incorporated API enabled connectivity patterns consistent with claims orchestration, and the platform hosted adjudication engines and configurable workflow services to support straight through processing and exception handling.
Operational rollout focused on claims operations and customer service teams with staged activation of modules, configuration governance and documented workflow ownership. Governance measures included change management for rules updates, security and access governance for sensitive claim data, and operational handover procedures between IT and claims operations.
