In 2018 Abreu Logistics implemented E2open BluJay WMS, adopting BluJay’s cloud platform as its core TMS and Warehouse Management solution to plan and execute multimodal transportation and warehouse operations. The deployment was SaaS based and positioned the platform to serve the company’s freight forwarding operations across its branch network in Portugal.
E2open BluJay WMS was configured to provide warehouse execution and orchestration, inventory visibility, order processing and mobility enabled task execution, together with control tower capabilities for shipment oversight. The implementation combined Warehouse Management functionality with multimodal transportation planning and execution, aligning WMS workflows with transport orchestration for end to end operational flow.
Operational scope covered branch level warehouse operations and multimodal transport planning for Abreu Logistics’ freight forwarding business, creating a single platform for warehouse and transportation control. The cloud deployment supported branch consolidation of visibility and mobile execution, enabling consistent operational processes across sites.
Governance and process changes focused on centralizing planning and execution on the BluJay platform, with rollout aimed at lowering cost to serve and providing end to end visibility across branches to improve execution and scalability for the freight forwarding business. Outcomes stated by the program included reduced cost to serve as an objective and improved visibility across branch operations.
