AD ESM Technographics, Software Purchases, AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by AD ESM and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 400 AD ESM employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that AD ESM has purchased the following applications: SAP ERP ECC 6.0 for ERP Financial in 2013, TechnoLogica HerMes for Core HR in 2013, SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) for Plant Maintenance in 2013 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems AD ESM is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with SAP , TechnoLogica or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing AD ESM revenues, which have grown to $41.0 million in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for AD ESM intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2013, AD ESM implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to establish a standardized ERP Financial backbone for its utilities operations in Macedonia. The deployment positioned SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the primary system for core financial processes and transactional accounting across the organization.
The implementation focused on ERP Financial capabilities including Financial Accounting, Controlling, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Asset accounting, and procurement-led invoicing and billing workflows. Configuration work emphasized chart of accounts harmonization, transactional posting rules, period closing procedures, and embedded workflow automation for invoice approval and financial period controls.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was integrated with EMC Documentum as the enterprise document management system and with HeRMes as the HRM system, creating document lifecycle and master data synchronization points. Integrations were scoped to route invoice and contract archival to EMC Documentum, and to synchronize personnel and payroll master records between SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and HeRMes, supporting finance, procurement, and HR business functions.
Governance and rollout centered on centralizing financial master data governance, standardizing accounting and procurement processes, and phasing the rollout through finance, procurement, and HR departments. Training, process mapping, and role based controls were implemented to align operational workflows with the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 environment.

| TechnoLogica | Legacy | TechnoLogica HerMes | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2013 | 2014 |
In 2013, AD ESM implemented TechnoLogica HerMes as its Core HR solution. The Human resources module was fully implemented, and Salary calculation was executed entirely within the TechnoLogica HerMes program package while the old system remained available to control output data and correct errors. Since April 2013 AD ESM operated parallel data entry between the shifts module and direct salary calculation to validate schedule and shift processing and to support salary testing with shift-entered data. This implementation placed TechnoLogica HerMes at the center of HR and payroll processing for the organization.
Document management adjustments were scoped alongside the Core HR rollout, with the DMS and Captiva scanning component requiring specific changes to scanning of incoming documentation. These DMS modifications were planned as part of the second phase of business software implementation, aligning document intake flows with HerMes-driven personnel and payroll records.
Project delivery included integration activity to verify interoperability between TechnoLogica HerMes and the SAP landscape, with complete commissioning intended to confirm system integration and the operation of BAR codes. SAP module workstreams were tracked in parallel, with FI subject to refinement and testing of electronic banking and reporting and KU training plus preparation of master data on suppliers. Asset Management work focused on functional arrangement and definition of fixed asset locations with KU training and master data migration, Investment Management defined a workflow for approval of investments with KU training and master data preparation, and MM defined the public procurement process, procurement plan and workflows for approving orders and freelancers with KU and EU training. Warehouse Management processes for revision and amendment were defined alongside KU and EU training and master data migration, SD work addressed open issues such as billing interest and freelancer appearance with KU and EU training, CO installation was completed to meet JSC ELEM requirements with KU training, PM was configured for maintenance requirements with KU and EU training and preparation of maintenance and overhaul data, and BW awaited real transactional data so reports could be formatted and tested.
Governance and rollout emphasized KU and EU training across modules, the definition of approval workflows for investments and procurement, and preparation of MASTER data for migration in multiple functional areas. The official start of productive use of the integrated systems was scheduled for January 1, 2014, with verification and testing activities ongoing through the second phase to ensure operational readiness.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) | Plant Maintenance | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2013 | 2014 |
In 2013 AD ESM implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) during the second phase of a wider business software program. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) was configured to support Plant Maintenance business functions including transactional maintenance recording and maintenance planning for regular maintenance and overhauls.
The implementation covered multiple SAP modules and functional configurations, with targeted activities in PM where the system was set up in accordance with JSC ELEM requirements. Asset Management work included functional arrangement of the module and definition of locations for fixed assets, and a small subset of master data was prepared for regular maintenance and overhaul scenarios. Financials received refinements to remarks and partial resolution of open FI issues, and Controlling was installed per ELEM requirements.
Integrations and adjacent system activity were emphasized, with HERMES used for human resources and salary calculation while the older payroll control process remained for output verification and error correction. Document Management System work required changes in the Captiva scanning flow for incoming documentation, and commissioning activities focused on verifying integration and barcode operation between SAP and HERMeS. Electronic banking and reporting in FI remained to be tested, and BW was waiting for real operational data to format and test reports.
Process governance and rollout were executed through key user training and end user training across modules, and master data preparation was staged for supplier, asset, investment and inventory objects. Workflows were defined for investment approval under IM and for public procurement and order approval under MM, and warehouse processes such as revisions and amendments were defined in WM. The project planned an official go live on January 1, 2014, with remaining testing and validation activities scheduled prior to that date.
