Absence plans were rationalized during design workshops, where consultants recommended a lean configuration to reduce plan proliferation and simplify global eligibility rules, supporting a cleaner out of the box Core HR configuration. Architecturally the program centered on Workday HCM as a central hub under the vendor Power of One principle, with the objective of reducing the number of separate HR systems and connecting multiple payroll providers into a single orchestration layer. The implementation emphasized integration points to payroll and recruitment inputs, and included planned retirement of numerous point solutions to consolidate master HR data in Workday HCM and improve data consistency across HR transactions. Governance and rollout were led through a steering group and a defined HR transformation that reorganized HR around Operations, Centre of Expertise and Business Partners, accompanied by process standardization and change management. Kainos served as the systems integrator and led delivery using Workday best practice, guiding configuration discipline, knowledge transfer, and a self-sufficient support model. Early outcomes cited in the program included strong uptake, completion of major annual HR processes in Workday HCM, and emerging internal support capability, while change management was highlighted as a key implementation focus.

The implementation delivered improved contract billing accuracy and operational efficiency across Europe and North America as reported by Aggreko and Spartan Solutions.
