| Exela Technologies | Legacy | Exela Lockbox | AR Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2002 | 2002 |
In 2002, American Express implemented Exela Lockbox as an AR Automation application to centralize remittance capture and accounts receivable processing for card-related receivables. American Express Exela Lockbox AR Automation supports core receivables workflows and was positioned to handle incoming payment presentment and posting activities within the organization.
The implementation focused on AR Automation functional modules common to lockbox deployments, including document imaging and optical character recognition for paper payments, electronic remittance capture for ACH and virtual card transactions, automated payment application and cash posting, exception management for unapplied funds, and archival for audit and retrieval. Exela Lockbox configuration emphasized rules-based remittance interpretation and straight-through processing to reduce manual touchpoints in the payment lifecycle.
Operationally the Exela Lockbox deployment operated as a vendor-provided remittance processing capability tied to American Express accounts receivable and billing dispute functions. The system was integrated with internal account update and reconciliation workflows to feed posting records and exceptions into downstream billing and collector processes, supporting platform-level remittance processing across servicing participants involved in card receivables.
Governance for the deployment aligned with Regulation AB servicing criteria, under which vendors performing scripted or limited servicing activities may be treated as Servicing Participants or be monitored by a Servicing Participant. The registrant filing indicates that each Servicing Participant completed Reports on Assessment and related Attestation Reports, and no Report on Assessment or related Attestation Report identified any material instance of noncompliance with the applicable servicing criteria.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, American Express implemented Workday Absence Management. Workday Absence Management, an Absence and Leave Management application, was provisioned as part of the broader Workday platform covering HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Performance, Reporting, and Time and Absence.
The implementation focused on configuring core absence capabilities typical of Absence and Leave Management systems, including absence tracking, leave type and entitlement configuration, time-off request and approval workflows, and absence reporting. Technical and functional analyst responsibilities explicitly included ongoing configuration, system upgrades, and ensuring compliance with established process and procedures, supporting both configuration governance and release validation activities.
Operational coverage centered on HR and talent management functions, with the team supporting internal stakeholders and Enablement Leads to operationalize processes across Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, and Reporting workflows. Governance practices emphasized change control, upgrade coordination, and policy-aligned configuration standards to maintain platform consistency while supporting the Workday Absence Management application and its integrations within the Workday suite.

| Broadcom | Legacy | AppWorx Workload Automation | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, American Express integrated AppWorx Workload Automation into its Business Process Management environment to orchestrate scheduled workloads across front end and backend services. AppWorx Workload Automation was positioned to control recurring job flows that trigger third party API calls and execute Oracle database functions and stored procedures as part of application operational workflows.
The implementation included application level modules such as a custom logging microservice, an ETL solution implemented in Node.js using OAuth 2.0, RESTful APIs documented with Swagger OpenAPI, and a single page application front end built in Angular 6 with NGRX state management. Authentication and API security were handled with JWT and HTTP interceptors in Angular, and automated testing followed a TDD approach using Cucumber, Mocha and Jasmine, with CI pipelines in Jenkins to validate and build artifacts before deployment.
AppWorx Workload Automation was integrated with core infrastructure and middleware components including Oracle Database for CRUD and PL/SQL package execution, Nginx reverse proxying for routing, and Apigee gateway for pre API authentication authorization and caching. The deployment surface used Azure AppService instances with Application Insights and OpenTelemetry for telemetry and custom user tracking, Splunk for centralized log aggregation, Terraform modules to automate AppService scaling, and Azure Traffic Manager and WAF for multiinstance routing and protection.
Governance and operational processes were structured around Agile delivery with JIRA for task and defect management, CI CD orchestration through Jenkins for automated deployment to Nginx served AppService instances, and monitoring alerting configured in Application Insights for specific log messages. AppWorx scheduling was embedded into these workflows to automate routine operational tasks and database jobs while existing DevOps automation using Terraform and Jenkins managed environment provisioning and deployment cadence.
