In 2015, ANDRITZ implemented IFS Field Service Management (FSM), a Field Service Management application, to support a digital-first shift in its service organization. ANDRITZ is an international technology group headquartered in Graz, Austria providing plants, systems, equipment and services across industrial markets.
The deployment of IFS Field Service Management (FSM) focused on streamlining back office processes and extending consistent access to service data for frontline workers. Configurations emphasized work order management, scheduling and dispatch workflows, and mobile technician interfaces to reduce the time technicians need to prepare for jobs and to enable more sophisticated field responsibilities.
Operational coverage targeted service operations and frontline technician teams, aligning field mobile access with back-office service planning and administrative functions. The implementation reinforced service delivery governance by shifting processes toward centralized orchestration of field work and standardized data access, enabling technicians to act with greater customer advisory capability.
Business transformation outcomes described by ANDRITZ include minimized technician preparation time, improved consistency of data access for field staff, and streamlined back office service processes. Company leadership framed the FSM deployment as a strategic element in expanding service offerings and reducing customer downtime.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Azure AI Foundry | Generative AI Platforms | AI Development | n/a | 2025 | 2025 |
In 2025, ANDRITZ implemented Microsoft Azure AI Foundry as a core component of a Generative AI Platforms initiative that combines Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio to preserve institutional expertise and accelerate knowledge sharing across the enterprise. The deployment is explicitly framed as an intelligent agent ecosystem centered on the Microsoft Azure AI Foundry application, supporting a broad rollout to global teams and 6,000 active Microsoft 365 Copilot users with 504 active agents aligned to specific use cases.
The implementation includes a Knowledge Preservation Agent and a portfolio of purpose-built agents that capture expert insight through interviews, videos, transcripts, and documents. These agents convert audio and video into structured reports and guidance, surface contextual knowledge on demand, and guide users to relevant content, enabling standard knowledge workflows and content automation consistent with Generative AI Platforms capabilities.
Integration points are centered in the Microsoft 365 environment, with content automatically organized and published to a dedicated SharePoint Online knowledge base, and agent interactions exposed via Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio. Operational coverage spans onboarding and field service workflows and extends across all Business Areas, making recorded know-how accessible to teams worldwide.
Governance and operational ownership are routed through Enterprise Content Management, with ANDRITZ working alongside atwork and Microsoft to design capture, publication, and agent curation processes. The solution architecture emphasizes automated content ingestion, structured knowledge publishing, and an agent lifecycle that supports ongoing capture and indexing of domain expertise.
Reported outcomes include strong adoption and engagement, with around 90 percent of licensed users actively engaging the Microsoft 365 Copilot and agent ecosystem, smoother onboarding, faster decision making, and preserved know-how that remains available even as experienced employees transition roles. Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, combined with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio, therefore supports ANDRITZ in preserving critical expertise and operationalizing it across business functions.
