| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Aptiv implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform, replacing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and consolidating core finance and controlling capabilities. The S/4 HANA deployment was oriented toward supporting complex manufacturing finance requirements, including transfer pricing, product costing, and centralized ledger and close processes.
SAP S/4 HANA modules and capabilities implemented include transfer pricing with multiple valuation, S/4 HANA currency setup for functional currency, S/4 HANA New Account based COPA, S/4 HANA Product Costing, S/4 HANA New Asset Accounting, S/4 HANA General Ledger, S/4 HANA Financial Closing Cockpit, S/4 HANA Intercompany Reconciliation, S/4 HANA standard inter-company and intracompany with transfer pricing, S/4 HANA FSCM Credit Management full version, and S/4 HANA FSCM Collections and Dispute Management. These functional components indicate a focus on account based profitability reporting, integrated fixed asset and ledger accounting, and advanced receivables governance.
Architecturally the implementation aligns transactional finance, costing, and receivables functions within the SAP S/4 HANA data model, leveraging the new general ledger and account based COPA to unify financial postings and profitability reporting. The inclusion of intercompany reconciliation and standard intercompany transfer pricing modules points to automated reconciliation workflows for intracompany transactions and centralized valuation handling across legal entities.
Governance and process orchestration were addressed through the Financial Closing Cockpit to structure period end activities, and through FSCM Collections and Dispute Management to operationalize credit and collections policies. The chosen SAP S/4 HANA configuration reflects an emphasis on harmonizing accounting, controlling, asset accounting, and working capital processes under a single ERP Financial platform.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Aptiv implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a global HRIS program to standardize leave administration across a company operating in 48 countries with more than 190,000 employees. Workday Absence Management is embedded within Aptiv’s broader Workday HCM footprint, and the deployment is framed as an enterprise Absence and Leave Management capability supported by a newly built global HRIS team based in Ireland.
The implementation configuration leveraged core Workday modules to align absence workflows with self service, compensation, talent management, recruiting, and reporting and analytics. Workday HCM Workflows and Self Service were used to automate leave requests and approval routing, while reporting and analytics were configured to surface absence balances and certification checkpoints for HR and management. The approach emphasized modular configuration within Workday to maintain consistent policy enforcement across absence plans and entitlements.
Operational coverage is global, with a Global Workday Product Owner and supervised global HRIS analysts overseeing system maintenance and uptake of new functionality. The program partnered with Centers of Excellence for Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Development on configuration, documentation, and roadmap decisions. Collaboration with other functional areas and external vendors was used to identify process improvements, systems enhancements, and issue resolution, and global Workday metrics are reported on a regular schedule to monitor system health and usage.
Governance and process controls include master data governance, routine data certification programs, and policies and procedures for database management. Change management activities were implemented through toolkits and job aids to support ongoing user training and engagement, and the HRIS team led bi-annual Workday releases and SOX audit activities. Continuous improvement was formalized through regular validation of data quality and prioritized enhancements based on new Workday functionality and user feedback.
