| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle NetSuite ERP | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015 Atlassian implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP to centralize finance accounting and intercompany processes, establishing a core ERP Financial platform for accounting and revenue support. The deployment focused on accounting workflows and revenue accounting integrations while positioning NetSuite as the system of record for finance transactions.
The implementation included configuration of intercompany accounting and netting inside Oracle NetSuite ERP, along with RevPro driven revenue recognition workflows. Revenue projects delivered in RevPro included point of billing and SSP redesigns, new bundle configurations, and event based revenue recognition, while NetSuite hosted the accounting ledger and intercompany settlements.
Integrations were a key component, Oracle Fusion was implemented for Order to Cash and revenue accounting and integrated with NetSuite ERP for accounting purposes, and multiple M&A and acquisition integration activities were coordinated to ensure accounting consistency. Operational coverage emphasized finance and accounting teams and included coordination with revenue operations and product/vendor evaluation teams for feature proof of concepts.
Governance and process changes were led from finance with a Business System Architect driving decision making using a DACI framework, creation of SOP documentation, business training programs, and coordination with Internal Audit to establish SOX controls. Multiple POCs were executed on NetSuite features to inform decisions, and RevPro and NetSuite configurations were iterated through cross functional reviews to align revenue and accounting controls.
