In 2011, Avandis implemented AFAS Payroll to support Payroll Processing, replacing Centric Paymaster and consolidating payroll responsibilities under the AFAS application. The deployment was driven by the company HR function and led by the Human Resources Officer, aligning the payroll application directly with HR governance and board level advisory activity.
The AFAS Payroll implementation encompassed core payroll processing capabilities and adjacent HR administration features, including maintenance of up-to-date personnel files, digitized management reports, automated letters and documents, and leave registration. AFAS Payroll was configured to handle total payroll processing workflows, reflecting the organisation's stated responsibility for end-to-end salary runs and payroll administration.
Operational integration included a named time registration system, ProTime, which was implemented alongside AFAS to provide time and attendance inputs into payroll calculations. Personnel record management transitioned from Press Master into the AFAS environment, creating a tighter linkage between employee master data, time capture, and payroll outputs, with primary operational coverage for HR, line management, and board-level stakeholders at the Avandis Zoetermeer site in the Netherlands.
Governance and process changes were managed within HR, with the HR Advisor advising the Board of Directors and line managers on policy, absenteeism handling, and case management for long-term sick employees, while driving digitization and innovation in HR workflows. The implementation emphasized centralizing payroll administration in AFAS Payroll and formalizing HR-to-payroll processes, including leave and document automation, without external system integrators noted.
