SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP n/a 2020 2020
In 2020 Ball Corporation implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial application. The deployment ran alongside SAP ECC in a hybrid footprint, operating across multiple global SAP S/4 Hana Cloud and SAP ECC out-hosted environments that supported over 50 manufacturing plants and 200 internal and external warehouses in EMEA and the Americas. Ball's global IT Service Delivery organization managed daily operations for SAP S/4 HANA, focusing on core finance and accounting workflows typical of the ERP Financial category, including general ledger orchestration, accounts receivable and payable processes, and financial control frameworks. Configuration work emphasized aligning transaction processing and master data structures with centralized financial reporting and compliance requirements. Integrations included ITSM and demand management connections to ServiceNow and resource planning coordination with Meister Plan, with explicit management of change, release, incident, and problem workflows across three SAP environments. The implementation supported coordinated service delivery for manufacturing and warehouse operations in the Americas and EMEA, using ServiceNow for demand intake and prioritization improvements in South America. Governance centered on ERP related global SOX controls and compliance, with oversight working directly with internal and external auditors and formalized ITIL processes for change and release management. Operational governance extended to resource planning and daily service delivery, embedding audit controls into SAP S/4 HANA financial processes and ServiceNow driven ITSM workflows.

Willis Towers Watson Legacy Willis Towers Watson Global Benefits Management Benefits Administration HCM n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Ball Corporation implemented Willis Towers Watson Global Benefits Management to centralize Benefits Administration for its corporate and divisional pension and benefits programs. The deployment supported HR Shared Services Global Benefits teams who conduct day to day administration and communication of Qualified and nonqualified pension plans, covering approximately 7,000 active employees and over 30,000 retirees across the US and managing 13 active union contracts. Willis Towers Watson Global Benefits Management was configured to support core pension administration workflows including benefit calculation, pension disability processing, LTD offset handling, and Workers Comp coordination. Functional workstreams included creating templates and automating projects such as the SIBI calculation project for over 850 retirees, administering de risking activities including a term vested Lump Sum Window payout of $92.1MM that decreased future liability and PBGC payments, and cross training to provide backup for Immigration and Severance administration, plus ongoing 401(k) and health and welfare project support. Operational integrations and systems work were explicit components of the implementation program, with team involvement in Lawson to SAP and SAP to ADP transitions and leading the ADP pension conversion as part of the rollout. The solution operated as the central administration layer interfacing with plan trustees, the record keeper, actuaries, auditors, the RRC for data research, PBC members, corporate HR and all vendors, and relied on regular HRIS extracts and reports to maintain DB plan data and complete year end W2 pension box processing. Governance and audit processes were embedded into the program to ensure consistent, effective implementation across locations and divisions, with the Benefits team serving as liaison for document interpretation of plan documents, amendments, SPDs, SMMs, SARs, AFNs and collective bargaining agreements. The team led and coordinated annual benefit plan audits, supported financial year end audit activities, assisted with regulatory reporting including IRS Form 5500, PBGC premiums and SSA Form 8955, and managed special projects to audit historical records and improve data integrity.

BuildingLink Oracle JD Edwards World BuildingLink Ledger Real Estate Property Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2009 2009
In 2009, Ball Corporation implemented BuildingLink Ledger as a centralized property accounting application. BuildingLink Ledger was deployed under the Real Estate Property Management category to assume property ledger responsibilities that had been handled in Oracle JD Edwards World, while enabling coordinated management across multiple JD Edwards ERP environments. The implementation emphasized ledger and property accounting capabilities, including core ledger posting, tenant billing orchestration, lease accounting workflows, and period close controls typical of Real Estate Property Management solutions. Configuration work aligned account mappings and chart of accounts to ensure consistent financial posting between BuildingLink Ledger and Ball Corporation's ERP instances. Integrations were established between BuildingLink Ledger and multiple Oracle JD Edwards World ERP environments to synchronize receivables, payables, and general ledger entries, supporting transactional reconciliation across systems. Operational ownership rested with corporate real estate and finance teams, which centralized property-centric financial records in BuildingLink Ledger while retaining enterprise financial ledgers in JD Edwards. Governance focused on standardized mapping rules for multi-ERP connectivity, reconciliation workflows to validate postings between BuildingLink Ledger and JD Edwards instances, and a staged rollout to align property accounting processes. Process restructuring reinforced centralized ledger control for property portfolios and formalized coordination between property management and corporate finance.
