| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2024 | 2024 |
In 2024 BanCoppel operates Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its ERP Financial solution, running a consolidated financial platform after a phased migration. BanCoppel is part of Coppel and serves Mexico with more than 850 branches and more than 9,500 employees, a footprint that shaped requirements for secure, centralized financial processing and data governance.
BanCoppel configured Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to cover core ERP Financial workflows, implementing eight functional modules: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budget Management, Procurement & Sourcing, Product Management, General Accounting, Bank Management, and Fixed Assets. The implementation centralized data forms, processes, queries, and reports, and introduced automated payment layouts, accounting structure parameters tied to labor account posting rules, and supplier self-access to reduce manual touch points.
The architecture and deployment journey began with on-premises planning in 2018, server installation in 2020, and a decision to migrate operations to Microsoft Azure driven by security and connectivity considerations during the mandatory lockdown, with Dynamics 365 deployed to Azure in January 2022. Reporting and analytics were integrated with Power BI to surface interactive financial reports, and accounting interfaces were designed and programmed into BanCoppel’s Comprehensive Financial System by internal leads, enabling real-time data flows between transactional ledgers and reporting layers.
Governance and rollout were led by the Head of Financial Control and a PMO, with support from the Microsoft partner Best Practices and named internal resources who designed accounting interfaces. Adoption extended to 141 active users who now have on-demand communication, automated supplier payment processing, and access to consolidated reports, enabling the bank to eliminate many manual processes and automate routine financial operations, which the organization cites as an increase in productivity.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations - Fixed Assets | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | Best Practices | 2018 | 2022 |
In 2018, BanCoppel selected Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations - Fixed Assets to centralize finance operations and establish an Enterprise Asset Management capability. The program was launched with implementation partner Best Practices and targeted the bank's accounting and asset accounting processes across its finance organization.
The implementation included core finance modules configured for general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, bank management, and the Fixed Assets application. Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations - Fixed Assets was configured to manage asset lifecycle processes, depreciation schedules, asset capitalization controls, and integrated posting flows to the general ledger to automate accounting entries and reporting.
Architecturally the solution was deployed to Microsoft Azure, with the cloud deployment culminating in a production go live in January 2022. Operational scope covered finance, treasury and accounting functions across the bank, with the bank management module linked to treasury workflows and reconciliations to ensure end to end cash and asset accounting continuity.
Governance and rollout were executed with Best Practices providing implementation and change management support, including configuration governance and phased cutover to cloud operations. The program delivered increased productivity and reduced manual reconciliations as reported by the project stakeholders.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Power BI | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2024 | 2024 |
In 2024, BanCoppel implemented Microsoft Power BI to provide interactive financial and operational reporting, aligning reporting workflows with its existing Microsoft platform. Microsoft Power BI in the Analytics and BI category was chosen to turn enterprise data into consistent, interactive, and visually appealing reports that reduce manual spreadsheet work and accelerate access to insights.
The implementation emphasized standard Analytics and BI capabilities, including centralized dashboards, report visualization and filtering, data modeling and semantic layer construction, and scheduled content distribution for finance stakeholders. Microsoft Power BI was configured to surface accounting and payment layouts, supplier reports, and management dashboards that had previously been assembled manually.
Power BI was integrated into BanCoppel’s Microsoft stack, consuming data from Dynamics 365 Finance which was deployed in January 2022 and from the bank’s Azure-hosted data environment following the cloud migration. The initial operational scope focused on accounting and financial control, supporting the Comprehensive Financial System interfaces designed by Leticia Ramírez and Ricardo Martínez, while visibility across other bank areas began through shared dashboards for analysis.
Governance and rollout were led by the bank’s PMO under José Roberto Moreno and the Head of Financial Control, Miguel Ángel Mayol, with Best Practices contributing to the broader Microsoft-based digitization program. The project supported BanCoppel’s goal to automate manual processes and increase efficiency and productivity, and it positioned Power BI as the reporting layer for ongoing systematization across the bank’s more than 850 branches and over 9,500 employees.
