In 2016, Banque de l'Union Haïtienne implemented Temenos T24 in a Core Banking initiative focused on local development to core solutions. The program served as preparation for a planned upgrade to a higher Temenos T24 release, and Phase 1 of the project was implemented in January 2019.
Phase 1 delivered multiple application-level enhancements within Temenos T24 and the Core Banking stack. Teller transaction workflows were redesigned using the composite screen module, producing a transaction screen on the left and customer signature view on the right, with the signature auto-populating when an account number is entered. The SWIFT funds transfer screen was rebuilt as a composite screen with transaction details on the left and new and enrolled beneficiary lists on the right. A Payment Draft Deal slip was developed to print directly on printed cheque stock via the passbook printer, and a Multi deposit screen was created using the Teller financial services module to consolidate Cash, Cheque Onus and Cheque other bank deposits into a single transaction. Reporting work used ENQUIRY to produce Cheque Returned and Daily Teller Transaction reports and to optimize existing report logic.
Local development and integration work extended Temenos T24 functionality on the existing release. The team developed Local Routine APIs to extend T24 features, and built a Local Service analogous to a DM Tool to migrate customer counterpart local fields into core fields in the absence of that product on the current release. Client-side controls were added through JavaScript validation to restrict Phone and SMS fields to numeric input, and CSS scripting was applied to hide the Frequency control button. Business users were engaged throughout to analyze, optimize and improve existing banking processes and to validate configuration and custom code.
Operational coverage centered on branch teller operations, payments processing including SWIFT transfers, cheque handling and operations reporting. The rollout approach was phased, combining application configuration, local code extensions and report optimization, with governance structured around iterative collaboration between IT and business users and an explicit upgrade path to a higher Temenos T24 release.
