A reconciliation model was developed in Excel to identify differences between purchase orders and supplier invoices, addressing receipting issues, and that reconciliation was institutionalized as a monthly control used by purchasing and finance stakeholders.
Governance and process change were formalized by the finance manager who led internal control assessments, prepared monthly management reporting packs with analysis and commentary, coordinated external audit activity and oversaw statutory account and tax return preparation.
