In 2016 Britannia Pharmaceuticals implemented Kofax AP Essentials (formerly ReadSoft Online) as its AP Automation platform. The implementation centralized invoice capture and processing for the Accounts Payable function and was configured to support accurate invoice entry into SAP.
The deployment emphasized automated capture and validation workflows, using Kofax AP Essentials for scanned invoice ingestion, optical character recognition and data extraction, supplier bank detail verification and automated three way matching against purchase orders and receipts. Configuration included exception routing and approval workflows to surface invoices that required manual review, and routines to process employee expenses and credit card postings alongside supplier invoices.
Integrations were anchored on SAP for posting and payment processing, with the AP team executing weekly payment runs in multi currencies and GBP and maintaining the system as the operational source for invoice status and authorisations. Between September 2018 and June 2019 the AP operatives used the platform to enter invoices into SAP, review and verify payment requests, follow up with approvers when POs were not raised or receipted, and communicate coding corrections with documented reasons.
Governance was implemented around invoice authorization and exception handling, ensuring correct authorisation of purchase invoices and establishing the AP team as the primary escalation point for supplier queries. Workflow rules and user accountability were used to enforce review steps and timely input of all AP invoices and related transactions.

In 2016, Britannia Pharmaceuticals implemented Microsoft Power BI to centralize Analytics and BI for Commercial Finance and cross functional stakeholders. The Microsoft Power BI deployment served as the primary analytics and reporting engine supporting executive reporting and operational decision making for finance and commercial functions.
The implementation focused on finance and commercial reporting capabilities, including complex data models and interactive dashboards designed for cash flow analysis, monthly management accounts, rolling sales forecasts and budget versus forecast commentary. Microsoft Power BI was used to construct the financial models and visualizations that underpin monthly cash flow reports, forecast flash reporting and end to end sales reporting processes.
Data integration and operational coverage tied Microsoft Power BI to spreadsheet based inputs and the organisation's Long Term Solution Management Reporting tool outputs, with source data flowing from Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, IT and HR stakeholders into consolidated finance datasets. Outputs were consumed by budget holders, the Britannia Leadership Team and the Global STADA Leadership Team, establishing a shared reporting layer across internal stakeholders.
Governance centered on a controlled budget and forecast data upload process, an established monthly management accounts cadence with narrative commentary, and an end to end sales reporting workflow that coordinates operations and commercial teams. The monthly cash flow report produced in Microsoft Power BI became a key focus for the Global STADA Leadership Team during the pandemic, and ongoing practices include regular communication with budget holders and support for ad hoc leadership requests.

In 2020, Britannia Pharmaceuticals deployed Microsoft Teams as part of an Office Platform programme to provide Audio Video and Web Conferencing and secure collaboration across the organization. The deployment was undertaken during an interim Head of IT engagement focused on connectivity communications and modern working practices for the UK based pharmaceuticals business.
Microsoft Teams was configured to deliver audio video and web conferencing, persistent chat, and document collaboration capabilities integrated with Office 365 SharePoint and Office security controls. Implementation activities included tenant provisioning user identity alignment with corporate accounts meeting policy and security baseline configuration and enabling file coauthoring via SharePoint to support clinical and operational workflows.
The Teams rollout was coordinated with parallel infrastructure projects including migration of the Denzapine Monitoring System to an IaaS provider iLand a cloud telephony migration and network upgrades to increase bandwidth from 100Mbs to 1Gbs, alongside CRM and business information system upgrades. Operational coverage extended to all staff and supported a rapid shift to remote working, with on premise telephony adapted to remote work across the company during the Covid-19 lockdown in two weeks.
Governance and process workstreams accompanied the technical rollout, aligning Service Management processes with Office security reviews and Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery assessments, and embedding Teams into collaboration governance for meetings and external communications. The implementation was executed as part of the broader Office Platform programme to standardize conferencing and unified communication patterns across Britannia Pharmaceuticals.
