Cambrium Technographics, Software Purchases, AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by Cambrium and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 23 Cambrium employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that Cambrium has purchased the following applications: BambooHR ATS for Applicant Tracking System in 2020, Benchling Bioresearch for Laboratory Management in 2024, Perplexity for Generative AI Platforms in 2024 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems Cambrium is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with BambooHR , Benchling , Perplexity or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing Cambrium revenues, which have grown to $1.0 million in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for Cambrium intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2024, Cambrium implemented Benchling Bioresearch as its centralized Laboratory Management platform to standardize experiment capture and support protein biomaterials R&D. Cambrium is a Berlin Germany based industrial biotech firm using molecular design and precision fermentation to produce micro-molecular collagen, and the Benchling Bioresearch deployment was positioned to unify data capture across its laboratory operations.
The implementation focused on structured data capture, experiment workflow configuration, and a centralized laboratory database to enable AI ready datasets. Benchling Bioresearch was configured to capture instrument output and scientist annotations in a common data model, and to support automated ML feedback loops from protein design through candidate identification. Functional capabilities implemented included experiment and protocol management, inventory and sample tracking, and searchable assay records to drive repeatable workflows.
Integrations emphasized instrument connectivity and data pipeline ingestion, making Benchling Bioresearch the primary route for laboratory-generated data. The platform was used across Cambrium’s wet lab and dry lab practices from the organization’s inception, enabling pipelines to consume Benchling’s database directly and permitting rapid plugging in of AI models. This created a single source of truth for lab measurements and experiments, preventing parallel data journeys and improving data retrievability for modeling and analytics.
Governance changes accompanied the rollout, with a common language established between scientists and instruments and organization wide alignment on data structures and capture practices. Onboarding and process training shifted teams toward data centric experiment design, and Benchling’s unified records helped accelerate cross functional collaboration. Explicit outcomes reported by Cambrium included improved data quality, faster milestones through AI and ML feedback loops, reduced costs via faster onboarding and IT efficiencies, and a tenfold improvement in protein synthesis capabilities within the lab.
