| SAP | Microsoft Dynamics NAV | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, Digital River implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial system, replacing Microsoft Dynamics NAV and initiating a full cycle SAP FICO deployment across finance and treasury functions. The implementation covered migrations for new companies and acquisitions, representing one of 22 SAP ECC6.0 implementations led for the organization during the multi-year rollout, and aligned core financial processes under a single ERP Financial platform.
Configuration work centered on SAP FICO, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Profit Center Accounting and Treasury. The team executed AS-IS to TO-BE process mapping, gathered and prioritized business requirements, designed business applications, and performed development through configuration and targeted customizations within SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to support multiple company codes and acquisition scenarios.
Banking and payments architecture was implemented at scale, with banking setups for more than 250 US and international banks including SEPA mandate support. Integrations were built with JPMorgan Chase and Toronto Dominion for ANSI EDI X12 payment file processing, and with Bank of America and Danske Bank for XML ISO20022 payment file processing, including a project to convert JPMorgan Chase flows from ANSI EDI X12 to XML ISO20022. Electronic bank statement processing used BAI2 EBS for 250 plus accounts, and 15 plus lockboxes were configured for automated customer payment posting, supplemented by ABAP developer work on user exits for additional automated transactional postings.
Program governance emphasized business blueprinting, rigorous test planning, and user acceptance testing for all development items, with the SAP FICO analyst acting as liaison to elicit, analyze and validate requirements. The rollout included end user training materials and documentation, and ongoing support and configuration for new company setups, acquisitions and migrations into SAP ERP ECC 6.0 within the organization.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2012 | 2018 |
In 2012, Digital River implemented SAP HCM (HR) in the Core HR category to support HR operations and personnel administration. The rollout centered on electronic personnel change request forms created with SAP’s HCM Processes and Forms framework, embedding form-driven capture of employee data changes into the Core HR system.
Implementation activities included configuration of HCM Processes and Forms and development of ABAP code to supply the required generic services for validation, data binding, and persistence. The project delivered form layout configuration, field-level bindings to personnel infotypes, and ABAP service modules that exposed generic service hooks consumed by the forms.
Digital River worked closely with internal IT to instrument the associated workflow, orchestrating form submission events into SAP workflow for approvals and routing and implementing runtime handlers for the ABAP services. SAP HCM (HR) was positioned to support operational HR workflows, with governance responsibilities delineated between HR process owners and IT for ongoing form maintenance and workflow changes.
The configuration and ABAP development established reusable patterns for HCM Processes and Forms within Digital River’s Core HR environment, enabling standardized electronic personnel change requests and a controlled collaboration model between HR and IT.
