| Infor | Unicorn HRO AS400 Payroll | Infor Lawson HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014, East Alabama Medical Center implemented Infor Lawson HCM as its Core HR system. The deployment targeted HR, payroll and benefits administration across the hospital system and replaced payroll functionality previously run on Unicorn HRO AS400 Payroll. The project engaged the EAMC Benefit Team alongside HRIS and Payroll stakeholders to define requirements and migration priorities. Implementation emphasized consolidation of employee master data to support eligibility and vendor billing reconciliation.
Infor Lawson HCM was configured to support core HR and payroll workflows, with benefits administration settings determined in collaboration with the Benefit Team. Functional capabilities implemented included employee master data, payroll processing, benefits eligibility management, and reporting to support payroll and benefits reconciliation. Configuration established eligibility file generation and billing extract processes aligned to benefit plan and payroll rules, and the full application name Infor Lawson HCM was used as the authoritative system for those records.
Data migration activities moved payroll and employee eligibility records from Unicorn HRO AS400 Payroll into Infor Lawson HCM, and ongoing work with HRIS and Payroll focused on establishing workflows and data integrity controls. Integrations emphasized file-based eligibility feeds and billing files for benefits vendors, while review and reporting workflows were instituted to manage shared payroll and benefits responsibilities. Operational coverage centered on the Benefit Team, HRIS and Payroll departments coordinating regular review cycles for employee data used in eligibility and vendor billing.
Governance adjustments created joint ownership models between benefits and payroll for process management, review cycles for reporting, and role-based accountability for employee data integrity. Continuing collaboration addressed workflow orchestration, exception management, and periodic reconciliation of eligibility files and vendor billing. The HRIS and Payroll teams maintained operational roles for ongoing review and reporting to support shared payroll and benefits responsibilities.
