In 2012, El Nino Parfum implemented Codeware WMS as a Warehouse Management deployment for its Czech Republic distribution warehouse. The implementation used Codeware's MOBILE STORE® ONLINE warehouse/WMS solution to introduce barcode and GS1 standard scanning across core warehouse processes.
The deployment configured mobile picking, put-away and inventory modules, with barcode and GS1-enabled workflows driving scan-first transaction validation. Codeware WMS was instrumented to enforce barcode capture during pick and put-away, and to maintain mobile inventory counts in real time.
Operational coverage was focused on the Czech Republic warehouse and logistics site, impacting order picking, inventory control and shipment processing functions. The solution relied on handheld mobile scanning workflows and GS1 data standards to standardize item identification and reduce manual data entry.
Governance changes emphasized scan-enforced picking procedures and standardized label and barcode handling under the GS1 standard. The implementation produced near-zero picking errors and faster order processing as reported in the case article.
