IFS Legacy IFS Cloud ERP ERP Financial ERP Platned 2020 2020
In 2020, Uster Technologies deployed IFS Cloud ERP in an IFS Managed Cloud implementation hosted on Microsoft Azure to consolidate its IT environment and unify business processes across sites in Switzerland, USA, Japan, Israel, Turkey, China, and India. The project was delivered with implementation partner Platned and positioned IFS Cloud ERP within the companys ERP Financial estate to provide consolidated application management and cross-site process standardization. The implementation configured IFS Cloud ERP to cover a full suite of mission-critical functional modules, including manufacturing, quality management and assurance, warehousing, supply chain management, maintenance, project management, customer service, financials, and human capital management. Configuration emphasized industry-specific capabilities for high-precision manufacturing and quality workflows, with module-level orchestration for production-to-after-sales processes and centralized financial processing. Deployment architecture used the IFS Managed Cloud on Microsoft Azure, providing a centralized managed cloud operating model for multi-country operations and enabling value chain visibility from production through after-sales support. The program consolidated fragmented IT elements across multiple USTER sites, creating a single IFS Applications instance to reduce application sprawl and enable more consistent master data, process flows, and service management across regions. Governance and operationalization included cross-functional rollout to manufacturing, quality, service, and finance teams, aligning process ownership to the new IFS Cloud ERP platform and establishing IFS and Platned collaboration for ongoing application support and industry-specific enhancements. The configuration also created a foundation for Uster to trial Industry 4.0 initiatives, including Internet of Things use cases, while retaining a managed cloud model for application lifecycle and support continuity.
