| Hitachi | Legacy | Hitachi Ellipse EAM (formerly ABB Ability Ellipse EAM) | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Endeavour Energy implemented Hitachi Ellipse EAM, formerly ABB Ability Ellipse EAM, as its Enterprise Asset Management solution. Hitachi Ellipse EAM was provisioned as the enterprise reporting platform through Ellipse Financial Management modules to capture and structure transactional financial data tied to asset work orders and projects.
Ellipse Financial Management records transactional information such as account code, work order or project number, and groups transactions by defined expense elements before aggregating and categorising them for regulatory, financial and summary reporting. Expense elements recorded in the system include Labour, Materials, Contracted services and consultancy, and Other, with labour further segmented into normal pay, overtime and labour on-costs such as superannuation, workers compensation, sick leave and annual leave and including temporary labour hire. These expense element classifications are applied to both operating and capital expenditure, enabling consolidated cost visibility across asset operations and finance.
IBM TM1 is used as a multidimensional database that summarises data extracted from Hitachi Ellipse EAM for analytical and reporting purposes and to apply the Endeavour Energy Cost Allocation Method. TM1 executes the CAM calculations to attribute and allocate costs between relevant services, providing the analytical layer that gives practical effect to the documented cost allocation approach. The combined deployment centralized transactional capture for auditing and analytical workflows and impacted finance, regulatory reporting and asset operations processes.
