Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ERP Financial ERP n/a 2019 2020
In 2019 Enviva Biomass implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its ERP Financial platform to consolidate core finance and operational accounting functions. The deployment was positioned to support Procurement and sourcing, Accounts Payable, Budgeting, Project accounting, and General Ledger business functions across the company. Implementation work included design and development of customized workflows for Procurement and sourcing, AP, Budgeting, Project, and GL, together with creation of approval automation jobs for workflow testing. The team produced standardized documents and procedures for production release, developed and modified Jet report Cubes originally from AX, authored reporting services reports, and performed ongoing bug fixing and report maintenance. Technical and deployment architecture activities referenced code migration from Dynamics AX 2012 to D365, code management and versioning in TFS, and administration of deployable packages in Microsoft Lifecycle Services LCS. Environment and tooling cited SQL, Jet Reports, Reporting Services, C#, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps for user story creation and documentation, and Jira for issue tracking. Operational governance focused on formalizing release procedures and embedding approval automation into workflows, aligning application configuration with finance and procurement process controls. Day to day operational scope included deployable package administration, release documentation, testing of automated approvals, and ongoing remediation work.

Greenhouse Legacy Greenhouse ATS Applicant Tracking System HCM n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Enviva Biomass deployed Greenhouse ATS as its Applicant Tracking System on its website, establishing Greenhouse ATS as the primary candidate intake and external application handler for recruiting in the Professional Services environment. The implementation put Greenhouse ATS at the center of candidate-facing workflows and career page routing. Greenhouse ATS was configured to manage job posting and career page routing, candidate application capture, pipeline stage management, interview scheduling, offer generation, and baseline reporting. The implementation leveraged Greenhouse ATS capabilities for structured hiring workflows, scorecards, and role templates to enforce consistent evaluation criteria across openings. The deployment is embedded on Enviva Biomass public job pages to drive candidate submissions and to centralize applicant records for Talent Acquisition and HR teams. Greenhouse ATS functions as Enviva Biomass Applicant Tracking System supporting recruiting workflows, centralized candidate data, and hiring manager collaboration. Governance and process work focused on standardizing requisition approvals, establishing defined interview stages and communication templates, and implementing role based access for hiring stakeholders. The configuration emphasized documented hiring workflows and orchestration of recruiting processes through Greenhouse ATS rather than ad hoc tracking.

Operational Sustainability Legacy OESuite APM Asset Performance Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2018 2018
In 2018 Enviva Biomass selected OESuite APM to implement an Operational Excellence Management System within the Asset Performance Management category, following a 2017 evaluation and a formal vendor selection in February 2018. The deployment targeted Enviva’s nine wood pellet production plants and five deep water export terminals across the U.S. Southeast, aiming to align operational practices with corporate values and to institutionalize standardized operational discipline. Enviva licensed eight OESuite® modules, including Incident Management, Audit, CAPA, MOC, PSSR, Procedure Management, Document Management, and Process Risk, organized to support safety, compliance, and asset reliability workflows. Implementation was executed in two phases, with phase 1 delivering MOC, PSSR, Audit, Incident, and CAPA finalized in September 2018, and phase 2 deploying Procedure Management, Document Management, and Process Risk by May 2019. Configuration work emphasized formal change control, pre startup safety review processes, structured incident investigation and CAPA workflows, and centralized procedure and document control. The deployment used a multi site operational footprint model to provide consistent processes across plant operations, terminals, and corporate oversight, integrating functional workflows for operations, maintenance, and health safety and environmental compliance. Governance changes introduced standardized approvals and escalation paths driven by OESuite® forms and CAPA lifecycle management, and an OEMS program office coordinated the phased rollout and user acceptance across sites. The platform centralized risk and procedure records to reduce variability in how work is planned and executed across locations. Enviva framed the project as a means to facilitate the formality of work and to drive operational discipline, a rationale articulated by Karl Dodge, OEMS Director for Enviva, and the documented timeline reflects that emphasis with completion milestones in September 2018 and May 2019. The OESuite APM implementation therefore positioned Asset Performance Management capabilities at the center of Enviva Biomass business functions responsible for asset operations and regulatory compliance. No cost or quantitative outcome data were provided in the source case study.
