In 2020, Expedia implemented Oracle Cloud ERP to support ERP Financial operations across accounts receivable, accounts payable, payments, and core finance functions. The deployment at Expedia Group, a company with roughly 16,500 employees, positioned Oracle Cloud ERP as the primary ERP Financial application for transactional finance and payments orchestration.
The Oracle Cloud ERP implementation included targeted module work and customizations such as AP Invoice Extraction report enhancements, Lockbox Receipts and Refunds Analysis reports for multicurrency and USD, and an AR Cancellation Interface with issue remediation. Developers created PL/SQL and JavaScript based concurrent programs for the cloud payment application and built custom OAF forms to extend user interactions, combining batch processing and UI-level customization. Interfaces and conversions were managed using file-based data import FBDI templates and scheduled Oracle Enterprise Scheduler Service ESS jobs for repeatability.
Integration architecture relied on Oracle Integration OIC, with created FTP and REST adapters for SaaS connectivity, and developed REST APIs to pull web portal data and deposit payloads to SFTP endpoints. Explicit integrations connected Oracle Cloud ERP with Oracle HCM and Salesforce, and integrated identity and authentication flows through Oracle Identity Cloud Service, while ServiceNow was included for service orchestration. The integration pattern combined synchronous REST interactions and asynchronous file exchanges to support invoicing, payment flows, and master data conversions.
Operational governance focused on ESS job scheduling, OIC interface orchestration, concurrent program controls, and report release processes to manage the cloud payment application and finance batch jobs. Implementation work included addressing functional defects and data quality issues, for example resolving IFSC code population across multiple employee bank accounts and fixing AR cancellation processing. Technical ownership encompassed adapter development, interface conversions, API creation, and report development as part of the Oracle Cloud ERP ERP Financial rollout.
