| Workday | Oracle PeopleSoft ERP | Workday Financial Management | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Fannie Mae implemented Workday Financial Management, replacing Oracle PeopleSoft ERP. The deployment targeted Fannie Mae's finance organization at the approximately 7,000-employee enterprise level and was categorized as ERP Financial, with the initiative framed as a consolidation of core financial systems to centralize accounting and reporting.
Workday Financial Management was configured to deliver core ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, procurement invoicing, period close orchestration, and financial reporting. Configuration emphasis included ledger-driven accounting models, continuous close workflows, and role-based security to support controllership, treasury, and the office of the CFO.
The implementation used Workday's cloud SaaS architecture to provide a unified data model and in-application reporting. Integrations were scoped to align transactional finance processes with downstream reporting and planning workflows using standard Workday integration patterns and data orchestration, minimizing bespoke point-to-point connectors.
Governance and process changes accompanied the technical rollout, with a centralized chart of accounts, standardized financial workflows, and tightened access controls to support audit and compliance requirements across corporate finance. The rollout approach emphasized staged cutovers of core accounting processes and controller-led validation of period close sequences to ensure continuity of financial operations.

| UKG | Legacy | UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager (ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager) | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015 Fannie Mae implemented UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager (ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager) as part of an Absence and Leave Management initiative to centralize absence tracking and leave administration. The implementation focused on Workforce Central Absence Manager modules and adjacent Workforce Time and Attendance components to support HR and payroll operations across employee populations.
Configuration work included development of Kronos-specific configuration artifacts such as Payrules, Workrules, Paycode Profiles, Paycodes, Wage Profiles, FAPs, Display Profiles, Assignment Rules, Schedules, Labor Levels and Labor Level sets, and custom HyperFind queries. The effort encompassed full Workforce Timekeeper, Leave, Attendance, Accruals and Scheduler configuration, plus building calculated fields and views to capture annual hours and other aggregate time metrics.
The deployment architecture incorporated Data Collection and Workforce Data Manager administration, configuring clock communications on DCM/WDM 6.3 and using Workforce Integration Manager WIM 6.3 to evaluate requirements, write interface specifications, develop, test and deploy integrations. Explicit integrations and data exchanges were implemented between the UKG/Kronos suite and payroll and HR systems, including ADP payroll products, PeopleSoft HR/Payroll components, SAP and Oracle HCM, and ADP Workforce Now and NetSecure for security provisioning and state setup.
Governance and operationalization included standard SDLC phases with requirements gathering, technical specifications, development, quality assurance and UAT support, along with production support for Time and Attendance, Absence Management and Accruals modules. Change management artifacts were created, including a change management plan, risk mitigation plans, technical documentation of application processes, and role-based training programs delivered to agents, managers and Employee Engagement teams.
The rollout impacted HR, Payroll, Employee Engagement and front-line managers who used the system for timecard reconciliation, missed time and overpayment communications, and schedule management across sites. Responsibilities extended to ongoing administration and troubleshooting for Workforce Scheduler, Workforce Timekeeper and absence workflows, and to translating union timekeeping requirements into system design and configurations.

| Broadcom | Legacy | AppWorx Workload Automation | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Fannie Mae implemented AppWorx Workload Automation as part of a Business Process Management initiative to orchestrate batch scheduling and dataflow across its Hadoop analytics stack. AppWorx Workload Automation was configured to centralize job scheduling and to provide a single orchestration layer for ingestion pipelines and downstream processing tasks.
The implementation focused on workload orchestration capabilities, including parameterized jobplans, centralized logging, email alerting, retry logic, and parallel job execution controls. AppWorx Workload Automation was used to trigger shell scripts and Spark submissions, manage workflow dependencies for Hive DDL operations, and schedule processes that populate internal and external Hive tables, partitions, and views.
Integrations were explicitly tied to the Hadoop ecosystem components listed by the environment, namely Hadoop HDFS, Hortonworks distribution, Apache Hive, Spark, Impala, Kerberos authentication, MySQL, and S3 storage. The orchestration layer also scheduled workflows that fed a downstream system responsible for KPI calculation and supported daily replication of data to Dev and QA clusters, aligning scheduler outputs with downstream consumers in data engineering and analytics teams.
Operational governance centered on runbooks, technical documentation, and environment profiles to standardize roles and access, alongside cron job provisions for ad hoc needs. Production support practices included active monitoring of scheduled jobs, log review and incident diagnosis to meet SLAs, and close coordination with business units under Agile delivery processes to define development estimates and release schedules.
