In 2023, Franke group initiated SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial program. At the end of January, the project held a kick-off event at the company headquarters in Aarburg with 150 participants, and CEO Patrik Wohlhauser delivered a morning keynote to the cohort.
The program will replace the existing SAP ERP ECC 6.0, beginning with a technical conversion of Franke's existing SAP systems to SAP S/4 HANA and then progressing toward what the company terms the New Digital Core. The implementation emphasis for the ERP Financial category is on establishing the S/4 HANA financial core, including core financial accounting, general ledger consolidation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and financial close orchestration, delivered through the standard technical conversion and configuration phases of an S/4 HANA migration.
The kick-off also included a business simulation game using a real ERP system to exercise end-to-end finance and operational transactions, supporting process validation and user readiness. Project staffing includes Franke project teams working alongside colleagues from SAP, and the rollout is framed as a two-phase journey from technical conversion to broader New Digital Core process and governance adoption.

Configuration emphasized value based price rules, price effect simulation, and standardized reporting modules to operationalize commercial price setting and scenario analysis.
Operational scope covered spare parts pricing, commercial pricing processes, and pricing reporting across markets, aligning price lists and approval workflows across regional commercial teams. The rollout established new pricing processes and reporting to sustain results, and introduced governance for price updates and approvals within sales and pricing functions.
The Priceedge Price implementation produced close to a 10% consolidated price effect improvement and an EBIT uplift, and delivered new pricing processes and reporting to sustain those results. Franke group implemented Priceedge Price in 2020 as a Price Optimization application to centralize spare parts pricing and related commercial pricing workflows.
