| Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics NAV | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | Dynamics Square | 2019 | 2020 | In 2019, Global Tea and Commodities implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, upgrading from Microsoft Dynamics NAV to standardize auction and trade processing. Global Tea and Commodities deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as an ERP Financial system to centralize procurement, inventory, sales, and finance functions supporting its tea, coffee, and macadamia trading operations. The implementation delivered a tailored auction management module and procurement workflows to capture each step of purchases at auctions in Kenya, replacing prior spreadsheet and paper processes. Business Central was configured to maintain purchase history with grade and quality attributes, manage production and inventory records, and automate sales and purchase transaction flows for intercompany trading. Dynamics Square led the implementation and configured Business Central functional modules for procurement, inventory management, production tracking, sales order processing, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and invoicing. Operational scope included management of auctions, trader transactions, and subsidiary sales and purchases, with employees accessing consolidated dashboards to manage supply chain, inventory, and finance processes. Governance changes focused on process consolidation and digitalization of trader communications, enabling the system to generate sales and purchase invoices electronically and distribute them by e-mail. Benefits documented by the customer include elimination of spreadsheet-based auction management, retention of supplier purchase history through to inventory sale, automated intercompany transaction creation, and simplified trader and inventory administration within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Financial environment. |
