In 2015 Gulftainer initiated the implementation of SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial backbone, launching the program in the second quarter with Tata Consultancy Services as the system integrator and SAP as the vendor. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment encompassed Simple Finance, HR and Payroll, Travel Management, Employee Self Services, Enterprise Asset Management, Materials Management and Sales and Distribution, configured to align port operation workflows with corporate finance and human capital management. The implementation leveraged technology-enabled process redesign and Gulftainer business teams to standardize finance master data, procurement-to-pay, order-to-cash, asset lifecycle management and employee self-service processes.
The initial go-live occurred October 9, 2016 for Gulftainer’s UAE facilities, establishing a stable and scalable platform to extend SAP S/4 HANA across additional international locations. Operational coverage focused on finance, HR, operations and asset management within port operations, positioning the SAP S/4 HANA environment to support consolidated enterprise management and cross-functional process orchestration.
Governance combined Gulftainer leadership, TCS delivery teams and SAP support, with phased rollout planning, change management and process governance to embed best practice operations.
