| Aptitude Software | Legacy | Aptitude IFRS 17 | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Hastings Direct implemented Aptitude IFRS 17 for the Apps Category. The deployment targeted the Group Financial Reporting function and the UK Group consolidated reporting chain, with explicit responsibility for quarterly IFRS consolidated packs, support for the UK Group Solvency II submission to parent company Sampo, quarterly investment and ratings reporting packs, and production of statutory financial statements for the Group’s UK subsidiaries.
Aptitude IFRS 17 was configured to support insurer-specific accounting workflows typical of IFRS 17 implementations, including measurement and reporting pipelines, contract valuation orchestration, and generation of consolidated reporting packs and disclosures. Configuration work emphasized repeatable pack assembly, reconciliation schedules, and templates to support peer review and yearend audit processes.
Operational coverage centered on the Group Financial Reporting team based in Bexhill, with the solution positioned to support interactions with Investor Relations, Group Tax, Audit Committees, and Risk reporting owners. The implementation narrative notes reliance on financial modelling systems and reporting packages within the finance function, and the Aptitude IFRS 17 deployment was structured to accept inputs from those modelling and reporting workflows.
Governance and process changes accompanying the Aptitude IFRS 17 deployment included formal peer review of reconciliations and schedules, preparation of technical accounting memos for senior stakeholders, weekly technical intelligence reporting on IASB and regulatory developments, and procedures to streamline external audit and yearend reporting to the parent company.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Hastings Direct implemented Workday HCM as its Core HR platform. The deployment covered 3500 staff and established one of the first Workday UK payroll deployments among UK companies, positioning Workday HCM to support core HR and payroll functions across the organisation.
The implementation included core functional modules for Absence management, Time Tracking, Benefits, Talent and Performance, Recruitment, and Advanced Compensation. Hastings Direct configured dynamic dashboards and real-time reporting within Workday HCM to enable business leaders to access self-service people data and to respond quickly to ad hoc reporting requests.
Operational coverage extended across HR, business leadership and executive reporting, with Workday UK payroll operated inside the platform and people reporting used to produce management information and Board content. The deployment also supported rapid operational changes, notably mobilising employee tracking to support the Covid-19 business continuity response.
Governance and delivery were managed through an internal team reporting into the Group HRD, with a dedicated HR Systems and Reporting Manager acting as functional and technical system lead alongside a team of three functional analysts. The program used Phase X projects and a six monthly Workday upgrade cycle to add features and functionality based on user requirements, and communications were coordinated with an executive sponsor and champions to support change management.
Workday HCM was embedded as the organisation's Core HR system to centralise people data and reporting, deliver self-service workflows for managers and employees, and provide executive level visibility through Board reporting and dynamic dashboards.

| Guidewire | Legacy | Guidewire Canvas | Insurance Claims Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Hastings Direct implemented Guidewire Canvas as its Insurance Claims Management platform for its claims organization. The deployment targeted centralization of claims workflows and user interfaces by adopting Guidewire Canvas to support claim intake and adjudication, and to provide a unified canvas for claims handlers and business rule orchestration.
Configuration work emphasized modular claims capabilities typical of Insurance Claims Management systems, including configurable intake forms, workflow-driven triage and adjudication pipelines, and rule-based decisioning. Guidewire Canvas was configured to expose customizable UI components and business process flows so claims handling, exceptions and task orchestration could be adapted to insurer-specific processes.
The implementation was supported by in-house automation and integration capabilities. Hastings Direct personnel with Power Platform and API experience provisioned connectors and HTTP based integrations, and applied Power Automate and Azure Function patterns to orchestrate data exchange between Guidewire Canvas and adjacent systems. Operational coverage focused on the United Kingdom claims organization and adjacent customer service and compliance functions.
Governance and controls were layered over the Canvas rollout, leveraging Hastings Direct second line assurance practices for monitoring and end-to-end process mapping. The program incorporated monitoring plans, audit controls and environment provisioning practices aligned with existing assurance and compliance monitoring responsibilities to manage regulatory and operational risk.
