| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM Benefits | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013, Hatch implemented SAP HCM Benefits in an on-premise configuration. SAP HCM Benefits was deployed to provide core Benefits Administration capabilities supporting plan definitions, eligibility rules, and enrollment workflows.
The implementation focused on Benefits Administration functional modules including plan configuration, eligibility determination, enrollment processing, and periodic reenrollment controls, with business rules configured to support bi-annual benefits reenrollment for Canada. The on-premise SAP HCM Benefits instance operated alongside support for SAP Learning Solutions within the HR technology footprint, and configuration emphasized enrollment forms, eligibility schemas, and workflow orchestration consistent with Benefits Administration workflows.
Operational governance designated a senior HCM solutions analyst as the customer administrator responsible for system support, maintenance, change control, and the bi-annual reenrollment cadence. Integrations included SAP on-premise HR interfaces and processes to onboard new companies into SAP through acquisitions, ensuring benefits eligibility records were populated for acquired entities. The deployment supported HR operations and benefits administration processes across Canadian employee populations and established ongoing reenrollment and support governance.

| IBM | Legacy | IBM Emptoris Contract | Contract Lifecycle Management | Content Management | n/a | 2008 | 2009 |
In 2008 Hatch deployed IBM Emptoris Contract as its Contract Lifecycle Management solution to lead a centralized procurement effort in India. The implementation supported Hatch procurement functions focused on identifying high target India sourcing commodities, developing an Indian supply base for capital goods, MROs and services, and supporting bidcycles, negotiations, pre and post award functions, logistics and close-out for industrial projects in mining, metals and energy sectors.
IBM Emptoris Contract was configured to centralize procurement intelligence and supplier interfaces, establishing an online repository for Electrical and Instrumentation suppliers and enabling eRFx orchestration through the Emptoris e-sourcing portal. Functional configuration emphasized category management workflows, supplier bid and execution performance review, geographical competitiveness rating and KPI tracking, reflecting typical Contract Lifecycle Management capabilities for sourcing, supplier onboarding and contract governance.
Operational coverage concentrated on India with category management for Electrical and Instrumentation, and programmatic support across project types including development of Procurement Execution Plans and best packaging options. The deployment enabled optimization of bidder lists and alternate supplier sourcing, mapping of local supplier capability to maximize local benefits while managing capital expenditure exposure, and routines for lead time reduction and on-time delivery to support early start-up objectives.
Governance and process redesign accompanied the technical rollout, with standardized category update cycles, supplier performance review processes, and contract-level KPI governance. The implementation also supported the estimating function by provisioning estimation guidelines, work breakdown structure and estimating templates, consolidation of equipment budget costs and unit rates, and determination of labour, taxes, duties and freight for preparation of project direct and indirect costs in line with AACE estimate classes.
