In 2017, I-D Foods implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform after gathering requirements from each business division and evaluating vendor proposals to find an enterprise-class solution that supported long term process automation. The selection prioritized an application capable of capturing significantly more transaction detail and enabling real-time operational insight across logistics, finance and sales.
The technical deployment runs SAP S/4 HANA on two IBM Power Systems S822 servers virtualized with IBM PowerVM, with separate logical partitions hosting SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications for SAP S/4 HANA and IBM AIX for complementary SAP applications such as SAP Solution Manager and SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence. Storage is provided by an IBM Storwize V5030 array now known as IBM FlashSystem 5030 to support fast access to in-memory and transactional data. NOVIPRO, an IBM Business Partner, hosts the Power Systems servers and IBM Global Financing provided a 36 month leasing solution to fund the infrastructure.
Functionally the SAP S/4 HANA implementation emphasizes process automation and analytics, including a new SAP Fiori ordering app, order to warehouse transmission, inventory and stock picking optimization, and tighter logistics and transport allocation workflows. I-D Foods intends to integrate barcode scanners and readers with SAP S/4 HANA to replace manual warehouse steps, move from next day to hourly picking cycles, and optimize item placement based on pick frequency to raise picks per employee from four to six.
Integrations explicitly implemented include SAP Solution Manager and SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence on the same Power Systems platform, plus planned integrations with customer SAP solutions to enable automatic real-time order transfer to major grocery chains. Deployment governance involved cross division requirements gathering and vendor evaluation, with IBM supplying the core infrastructure and NOVIPRO providing hosting and implementation support.
I-D Foods reports a sharply reduced infrastructure footprint compared with an x86 blade alternative, achieving equivalent performance with two Power Systems servers, an 87.5% smaller server footprint, and reports no support tickets on the new Power Systems environment. The company expects customers to place orders up to six times faster through the SAP Fiori app, real-time order transmission to warehouses, and improved picking productivity, and it positions SAP S/4 HANA running on IBM Power Systems and IBM Storage to support future product range expansion and deeper retail chain integration.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP BusinessObjects | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | Ibm | 2010 | 2010 |
In 2010, I-D Foods implemented SAP BusinessObjects to establish an Analytics and BI capability that would deliver operational reporting and business intelligence across logistics, finance and sales. The SAP BusinessObjects implementation was undertaken as part of a broader SAP program that included SAP S/4HANA and SAP Solution Manager, aligning BI with transactional order fulfilment and inventory workflows to deliver more granular, near real-time insight.
SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence was provisioned on IBM AIX logical partitions running on IBM Power Systems servers, leveraging IBM PowerVM virtualization and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications where SAP S/4HANA co-resided. The deployment focused on enterprise reporting, operational dashboards and ad hoc query and analytics to consume transaction-level detail from the SAP S/4HANA data model, supporting warehouse picking, sales forecasting and financial reporting use cases.
Integrations explicitly included direct data flows from SAP S/4HANA and oversight via SAP Solution Manager, with IBM Storwize now known as IBM FlashSystem 5030 providing backend storage for rapid analytical access. The operational coverage spanned I-D Foods offices and warehouses across Canada and its national trucking network, enabling BI consumers from supply chain, warehouse operations and commercial teams to access synchronized operational reports.
The program was driven by cross-division requirements gathering and vendor evaluation, financed through IBM Global Financing on a 36 month lease and hosted by NOVIPRO on IBM Power Systems with IBM providing local support. Governance included centralized reporting and dashboard standards to support process changes in order capture, picking and inventory placement. Explicit outcomes in the implementation narrative include richer real-time analytics, accelerated order processing and warehouse picking workflows, lower infrastructure hosting footprint and stable post-deployment operations with no reported support tickets.

In 2019, I-D FOODS implemented Microsoft 365 to provide enterprise Collaboration across its Canadian manufacturing operations. The deployment was positioned as the primary collaboration and communication platform for a 200-employee manufacturing and corporate organization and Microsoft 365 was provisioned to support company wide productivity requirements.
The implementation emphasized core Microsoft 365 capabilities including Exchange Online for corporate email, SharePoint Online for document libraries and intranet content, Microsoft Teams for synchronous collaboration, and OneDrive for personal file storage and synchronization. Identity and access were managed through Azure Active Directory to enable single sign on and role based access control, while configuration work focused on SharePoint site architecture, Teams channel taxonomy, mailbox provisioning and coauthoring enabled across mobile and desktop clients.
Administration adopted a centralized tenant model with per user licensing, tenant level security policies and data retention controls to align with corporate governance. The rollout covered corporate, operations and sales functions in Canada and included structured user provisioning workflows and adoption support. Publicly visible evidence shows I-D FOODS is using Microsoft 365 on their website as part of its corporate presence.
