Configuration work focused on policy templates and role based web access, enabling user and group level enforcement and centralized administration of filtering rules consistent with Secure Web Gateways (SWG) functional workflows. Operationally the Clearswift deployment consolidated web control functions previously delivered by MS TMG 2010 and Websense Web Filter into an inline web gateway architecture placed at the corporate Internet egress. The solution was integrated with corporate directory services for user identification and applied to network operations, IT security and compliance workflows to enforce acceptable use and content controls. Governance was organized around the IT security team, with staged policy rollout and centralized rule management to standardize web access policies. The project emphasized operational handover to network operations for day to day filtering management and to compliance for policy auditability, reflecting the Secure Web Gateways (SWG) role in provisioning and controlling Internet access. |
