In 2015 Jaguar Land Rover UK implemented SAP S/4 HANA as part of a multi year SAP programme to replace SAP ERP ECC 6.0 across its manufacturing and business landscape. The deployment targeted ERP Financial capabilities and formed part of a broader digital programme initiated in 2011 with a five year horizon and a CAPEX of more than £500 million.
The SAP S/4 HANA implementation extended the SAP core into procurement and HR clouds, integrating Ariba, SuccessFactors and Concur to align finance, procurement and workforce data flows. The programme included an offshore build and test factory to develop RICEFW objects and execute System Testing and System Integration Testing while addressing Enhancement Pack 6.0 upgrade issues through cross IT and business escalation.
Operational scope covered UK and European plants with delivery responsibilities also spanning China and Brazil, and the rollout emphasized global manufacturing and digitalisation use cases tied to plant operations. The technical footprint required coordination with MES instances, ESB middleware, BI platforms, data migration processes, infrastructure, security and business controls to ensure transactional continuity into SAP S/4 HANA.
Programme governance was run through executive steering committee dashboards and monthly health reporting to IT leadership, with commercial planning and risk mitigation for critical dependencies. Project leadership coached senior IT directors and sponsors, and rolled out a quality management approach to support a £1 billion global business, while explicitly mitigating risks around integration, data migration and security.

The deployment targeted a global rollout of the SAP Concur Travel application to all business locations, with specific operational responsibility for travel booking, expense capture, and corporate purchase card lifecycle management.
The implementation configured SAP Concur Travel to cover core travel booking workflows and expense management capabilities, alongside end to end processes for corporate credit cards and purchase credit cards, including distribution and payment flows to external partners and employees. The initiative placed SAP Concur Travel at the center of Jaguar Land Rover UK travel and expense governance, embedding travel booking, expense reporting, and corporate card administration into a single Travel Management platform. The project objective included ensuring the business keeps pace with best practice in the marketplace while delivering standardized processes and a single system of record for travel and card transactions.
