| Zendesk | Legacy | Zendesk Chat | Chatbots and Conversational AI | AI-Powered Application | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Jenny Craig implemented Zendesk Chat on its public website, adopting Chatbots and Conversational AI to support online customer engagement and service. The deployment positioned Zendesk Chat as the web channel for initial customer interactions, routing inquiries to the brand's customer service function in Australia.
The implementation used a web chat widget configuration, employing standard Chatbots and Conversational AI capabilities such as session based chat, canned responses, agent handoff, transcript logging, and basic conversational workflows for prequalifying inquiries. Zendesk Chat was configured to present contextual prompts on key site pages and to capture contact details for follow up. This configuration aligns with common chat application architectures, combining client side widget deployment with backend session management.
Operationally the rollout focused on the website channel, with governance centered on chat script ownership, agent triage workflows, and monitoring of chat volumes to inform staffing and script tuning. Integration scope is limited to the website implementation as observed on jennycraig.com.au, with agent access and administrative controls managed through the Zendesk Chat administrative console. Ongoing operational responsibilities include maintaining conversational scripts and session logs to preserve continuity of support on the site.
