| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2016 | 2020 |
In 2016 JP Morgan Chase Germany began executing a firmwide SAP S/4 HANA program within its ERP Financial architecture, led by the Head of Finance Architecture and Execution for Corporate Controllers. The initiative explicitly targeted an upgrade from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4 HANA as part of a global enterprise resource architecture for the Corporate Controller organization.
The implementation scope focused on finance components and the global general ledger, with a migration strategy developed for retail and commercial bank finance processes. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment included configuration and process standardization to support a centralized global SAP GL platform and to standardize the global month end close process.
Operational workstreams included a two year rollout of multiple finance component migrations to SAP S/4 HANA and a separate two year Finance Technology Transformation that migrated 13 countries, covering more than 180 legal entities in APAC, from Oracle Financials into the global SAP GL platform. The program involved engagement with lines of business across APAC and the US to incorporate regional requirements into the global operating model.
Governance and controls were strengthened through a system security and data privacy uplift program implemented across APAC to meet regulatory expectations, and this program was managed to avoid potential data breaches and regulatory penalties. The rollout also restructured month end close workflows under Corporate Controllers governance to standardize procedures and reduce variability across regions.
Explicit outcomes recorded in the program include an estimated $3 million in annual operating cost savings projected from the SAP S/4 HANA finance component migrations, a $1.5 million annual operating cost savings realized from the APAC migration into the global SAP GL platform, and a reduction in the standardized global month end close from BD7 to BD5.

In 2018, JP Morgan Chase Germany implemented Cisco Webex Meetings. The deployment embedded Cisco Webex Meetings into the corporate website as part of its Audio Video and Web Conferencing tooling to support client engagement and remote collaboration. JP Morgan Chase Germany Cisco Webex Meetings Audio Video and Web Conferencing supports client engagement and internal collaboration across the organization.
Functionally the Cisco Webex Meetings implementation leverages standard meeting capabilities common to the Audio Video and Web Conferencing category, including scheduled and ad hoc video conferencing, screen sharing, meeting recording, and participant management. Configurations emphasize branded meeting experiences and access controls aligned with corporate identity and security requirements.
The solution is surfaced on the public website to initiate client-facing sessions while also available to internal users across JP Morgan Chase Germany operations. The architecture follows a SaaS delivery pattern, with Webex Meetings embedded into web flows so meetings can be provisioned and launched directly from the site without on premise conferencing infrastructure.
Governance and operational control are centralized under corporate IT and communications functions, with IT-managed user provisioning, role based access, and meeting policy enforcement to control external access and protect data. Operational workflows were standardized to govern meeting creation, participant management, and recording retention in line with enterprise collaboration policies.
