The Darwinbox Core HR deployment centralized HR management and talent processes for the JSW Steel Salem unit, while a JSW Group core team designed and validated new processes for broader rollouts across the organization. Configuration focused on talent management, workforce planning and organizational development, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and statutory compliance modules. Implementation work emphasized workflow-driven automation, stabilization of Darwinbox modules, and digitalization of competency and skill development processes to replace manual activities. Integrations connected Darwinbox Core HR to plant-level security and operational systems, explicitly including a facial recognition system implemented at the Salem plant and a workflow-based gate pass system for a contract workforce exceeding 6000 workers. The rollout included data synchronization to the contract workforce management system CWMS to ensure annual wage revisions and contract worker records were applied consistently alongside payroll and HR records. Governance and process restructuring were executed through an Integrated Management System for HR and institutionalization of total quality management practices, with centralized HR process ownership and audit readiness. The HR team prepared for and passed the Deming Examination and JSW Steel was awarded the Deming Prize in 2019, reflecting documented quality and process discipline concurrent with the Darwinbox Core HR implementation.
