SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Compensation Management HCM n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Kmart Australia implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a coordinated Compensation Management rollout tied to the separation of shared services from Coles. The SAP SuccessFactors Compensation deployment was delivered alongside Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll to establish an independent HCM and payroll estate for Kmart and related businesses including Target. The implementation configured SAP SuccessFactors Compensation to support compensation planning workflows, pay component modeling, and approval routing consistent with Compensation Management best practices. Configuration work aligned compensation structures with employee populations migrated into SuccessFactors, and the program delivered Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll and Compensation module configurations as an integrated suite. Technical and operational integration included data migration of 37,000 employees from Coles’s SAP environment into SuccessFactors, and orchestration between Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll to maintain payroll continuity. Delivery was organized across six delivery streams with multi functional teams managing HCM, payroll, data migration, testing, and cutover activities, and interdependencies were actively coordinated with Coles and Target. Governance included monthly steering committee reporting and extensive stakeholder engagement led by program management, with a focused effort to meet Transitional Services Agreement deadlines. The program delivered the SuccessFactors Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll and SAP SuccessFactors Compensation modules on time and on budget, completing the work three months ahead of the TSA expiry date in June 2020.

Informatica Legacy Informatica Data Quality Data Warehouse Analytics and BI n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Kmart Australia deployed Informatica Data Quality alongside Informatica MDM - Product 360 as part of a Data Warehouse–oriented product information management initiative to bring the retailer’s full catalog online and enable B2C and B2B digital channels. The implementation was driven by the need to load and manage diverse, fast-changing product data for more than 45,000 SKUs, and to accelerate time to market for apparel and trend-driven merchandise. The solution configuration centered on Informatica MDM - Product 360 for centralized product information management and collaboration, paired with Informatica Data Quality for automated data checks and governance. Functional capabilities implemented included web collaboration portals for internal users and external contributors, automated image assignment for apparel SKUs, automated stock checks and dynamic image management across product lines, and multi-tier quality assurance workflows described as three levels of QA. Integrations were explicitly executed with Kmart’s ERP to support ongoing synchronization, Informatica Professional Services configured the ERP integration to update 130 data fields daily, and portals were provisioned to integrate external vendors and creative agencies for onboarding and validating product images and digital content. Operational coverage included the central product management team, external agencies and vendors supplying roughly 20 percent of inventory, and omnichannel publishing across both B2C storefronts and newly expanded B2B channels. Governance and process changes emphasized data quality gates and role-based collaboration, with Informatica Data Quality enforcing automated data checks that reduced manual review work. The deployment shifted routine approval and data governance activity out of manual processes into governed workflows and portals, enabling the product team to reallocate effort toward customer experience improvements rather than repetitive data maintenance. Results recorded in the implementation narrative are explicit, Kmart moved 98 percent of its product range online representing more than 45,000 SKUs, expanded online reach by 50 percent within one month of go-live, introduced products four times faster, quadrupled online sales, and sustained a threefold increase in product team productivity while enabling broader B2B selling and measurable business growth reported during the stated period. The narrative restates Informatica Data Quality and Informatica MDM - Product 360 as core components of the Data Warehouse solution that enabled these outcomes.
