UKG Legacy UKG Workforce Central (ex Kronos Workforce Central) Workforce Management HCM n/a 2015 2015
In 2015 La Crosse County implemented UKG Workforce Central (ex Kronos Workforce Central) to centralize Workforce Management for scheduling, timekeeping, and accrual tracking across county operations. The deployment targeted scheduling and shift notifications specifically for sheriff's office staff, while time and attendance and leave management were applied to all other county employees. The implementation included Workforce TeleStaff Create to assemble schedules that comply with union contracts, HR policies, and department rules, ensure assignments based on certification requirements, apply rules based overtime in order of entitlement, and provide audit tracking. Workforce TeleStaff Create was also configured to make outbound calls to fill open shifts by required qualifications and to relay and document scheduling communications. Workforce Timekeeper was deployed to track and manage employee time and attendance, provide visibility into approaching overtime, and enforce complex compliance requirements. Workforce Accruals was implemented to calculate and track time off accruals automatically, enforce organization specific accrual policies, and streamline time off requests and approvals with visibility into current balances. The UKG Workforce Central deployment interfaces with the county's New World solution, which handles HR, payroll, and finance tasks. The integration supports operational workflows between scheduling, time collection, accrual balances, and the county payroll and HR records to reduce manual reconciliation and align time and attendance data with payroll processing. Governance was configured around department and union rules with built in audit tracking and entitlement order for overtime assignments, supporting impartial policy enforcement. Explicit operational outcomes cited by the county include reduced payroll manual errors, improved control over approaching overtime, minimized compliance risk through enforcement and tracking, and faster handling of time off requests through accurate accrual management.
