Oracle Legacy Oracle PeopleSoft ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2018 2018
In 2018 Laney College implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as its ERP Financial platform within the Peralta Community College District OnePeralta program. The deployment placed Oracle PeopleSoft ERP at the center of district-managed financial operations provisioned to Laney College for core accounting and financial controls. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP was configured to deliver Finance, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Commitment Control and General Ledger capabilities, implemented under the PeopleSoft OnePeralta naming and organizational construct. The PeopleSoft configuration also incorporated preferred name functionality to address California AB 1266 requirements for students and scaffolded identity handling for Peralta employees as noted in the district application inventory. The PeopleSoft environment and the district data center were migrated to the Azure cloud platform, situating Oracle PeopleSoft ERP in a cloud-hosted architecture. The ERP runs within a broader application ecosystem that includes Single Sign On for students and employees, the PeopleSoft Student Information System known as Passport, Office 365 portals, Canvas LMS, and centralized IT ticketing via SolarWinds, with these systems supporting authentication, identity and administrative workflows around the ERP. Governance and operational support are provided by the District Technology Committee which prioritizes PeopleSoft configuration and aligns projects with institutional goals. Weekly campus and District IT meetings sustain cross-campus coordination, and a centralized helpdesk workflow captures service requests via laneyhelpdesk@peralta.edu, processing roughly 2600 tickets annually and enabling routing of incidents between District and the colleges.
