Sterling Talent Solutions Legacy Sterling Background Check BackGround Screening HCM n/a 2020 2020
In 2020 Loyola University Medical Center implemented Sterling Background Check to support BackGround Screening within its HR onboarding workflow. The Sterling Background Check implementation was positioned to support Talent Acquisition and new hire onboarding activities at the Maywood, IL campus, enabling initiation and management of criminal and education screening tasks alongside existing screening processes. Sterling Background Check was configured to handle core background screening workflows including criminal record checks, education verification, primary source verification for licenses and certifications, and adjudication support for candidate disclosures. Operational use included the processing of employee statements for background hits, routing verification items to senior leadership, and maintaining electronic employee files to meet IDPH and The Joint Commission documentation requirements. The screening workflow operated alongside HireRight and Equifax tools, with coordinators initiating checks via HireRight and Sterling systems and using Equifax for I9 scheduling, completion and verification. New hire demographic and payroll details were entered into Workday as part of the onboarding sequence, with manual and procedural handoffs coordinating information between Sterling Background Check, Equifax, HireRight, and Workday. Governance and operational controls centered on the HR Talent Acquisition Coordinator role, which coordinated status updates with HR leaders, hiring managers and senior leadership, obtained primary source verifications, and ensured electronic files met regulatory standards. Sterling Background Check therefore served as a dedicated BackGround Screening application within Loyola University Medical Center HR, integrated into documented onboarding processes and governance touch points without claims about system replacement.

Varian Legacy Varian Aria Medical Practice Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2015 2015
In 2015 Loyola University Medical Center implemented Varian Aria as its radiation-oncology rEHR, deploying the application to support Medical Practice Management for oncology scheduling and treatment documentation. The rollout focused on integrating radiation oncology clinical workflows with hospital scheduling and consult management to improve multidisciplinary coordination across the Chicago region. Varian Aria was configured as the primary radiation-oncology electronic health record, with ARIA Connect interfaces implemented to exchange key treatment and scheduling data. Configuration work centered on treatment dates, consult notes, and consolidated treatment summaries, aligning Varian Aria clinical modules with enterprise scheduling and documentation flows. The ARIA Connect integration exchanged treatment schedules, consults, and summary documents with the hospital Epic system, enabling clinicians and scheduling teams to view radiation treatment dates and consult information inside Epic. Operational coverage included radiation oncology clinicians, scheduling staff, and multidisciplinary care teams within the Loyola University Medical Center network in Chicago, supporting cross-system visibility between Varian Aria and Epic. Governance and workflow changes emphasized reducing duplicate data entry between systems and improving access to radiation treatment dates, consults, and summaries within Epic. The integration explicitly improved multidisciplinary care coordination and lowered redundant documentation effort, as reported by the implementation stakeholders.
