Temenos Legacy Temenos T24 Core Banking ERP Services and Operations n/a 2007 2007
In 2007, National Bank of Greece deployed Temenos T24 as its Core Banking system. The implementation was managed through an internal T24 Competence centre and aligned directly with the bank's Payments, Cash operations and Interfaces Unit organizational responsibilities. Temenos T24 was configured to support core ledger functions, customer account management, payments processing, cash management, and the platform interfaces framework typical of Core Banking implementations. The T24 Competence centre executed product parameterization and configuration management, and supported both real time transaction processing and scheduled batch operations to meet operational payments and cash workflows. The bank routed integration responsibilities through the Interfaces Unit, which managed system interfaces between Temenos T24 and internal channel systems, payments operations, and cash management workflows. Interface patterns emphasized message exchanges and file based handoffs consistent with large scale Core Banking deployments, with the competence centre maintaining interface version control and operational handover documentation. Governance was centralized in the T24 Competence centre with accountability for configuration control, release coordination, and operational runbooks for payments and cash teams. The competence centre served as the control point for ongoing change management and support of Temenos T24 across the National Bank of Greece payments and cash operations functions.

Hyperledger Legacy Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain Platform Blockchain n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, National Bank of Greece deployed Hyperledger Fabric as the underlying distributed ledger to participate in the we.trade digital trade platform, using Hyperledger Fabric within a Blockchain Platform context. The deployment was executed as part of the Preview Offering Program facilitated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to run test transactions with TBC Bank and Nordea, with an explicit focus on expanding access to trade finance for small and medium-sized enterprises. The Hyperledger Fabric implementation concentrated on core trade finance workflows, including smart contract-based transaction orchestration, immutable ledger recording of trade events, and permissioned participant identity and access controls that are typical for a Blockchain Platform. Configuration work emphasized modular chaincode deployment, consortium channel separation for transaction privacy, and governance controls aligned to multi-bank transaction flows. The runtime architecture for the deployment runs on the IBM Blockchain Platform and integrates directly with the we.trade network, enabling National Bank of Greece to execute cross-bank test transactions and to extend digital trade finance capabilities to corporate and SME clients. Operational scope covered the bank’s trade finance and operations functions, with the EBRD supplying operational, information technology, sales, marketing and legal and compliance consultancy through the Preview Offering Program. Governance and rollout were coordinated through the we.trade consortium governance model, with participant onboarding, compliance workflows and legal framework alignment supported by EBRD and engagement with industry bodies such as the International Chamber of Commerce Banking Commission and the International Trade and Forfaiting Association. The effort aligned with National Bank of Greece’s transformation priorities in trade finance and produced facilitated test transactions in 2021 on Hyperledger Fabric within the we.trade consortium framework.
