In 2020 NCAA began implementing Oracle Cloud ERP to support ERP Financial functions for its Purchasing and Procurement organization in Indianapolis, IN. The implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP is positioned to centralize procurement controls and purchasing workflows across the institution.
Implementation work has concentrated on procurement and purchasing capabilities within Oracle Cloud ERP, including supplier master data, requisition to purchase order flows, purchase order processing, contract management, and accounts payable controls. Configuration emphasis includes approval workflow design, vendor creation and onboarding automation, standardized purchase order templates, and contract lifecycle controls consistent with ERP Financial best practices.
The rollout scope covers the Purchasing and Procurement Department and engaged more than forty internal stakeholders across Information Technology, Communications, and Human Resources. Activities tied to the ERP program have run alongside sourcing and contracting work, including RFP execution, negotiation and creation of master service agreements, independent contractor agreements, and project orders.
Governance and process transformation work has focused on revamping procedures to accelerate contract execution, reduce purchase order cycle time, and streamline vendor creation.
