In 2020 Neos Network implemented Workday Absence Management in the Absence and Leave Management category as part of a wider Workday HCM and Financials rollout during an ERP Transformation and Separation programme. The programme ran through the company separation from SSE Group and was overseen by an ERP Transformation Programme Manager accountable for HCM, Finance, Procurement and Data Transformation.
Workday Absence Management was deployed alongside Workday HCM modules including Payroll, Benefits, Learning, Recruitment, Compensation, Talent and Reporting. Configuration and delivery activities covered absence policies, leave types, entitlement calculations, approval workflows and integrations with payroll and benefits, while programme teams executed master and transactional data collection, validation, cleansing, mapping and transformation.
Integrations implemented across the programme included HMRC, Active Directory and SSO, Outlook 365, bank interfaces, procurement card and punchout connectivity, DocuSign, Broadbean, OCR invoice scanning, e invoicing EDI, ad hoc payments, cheque printing, travel booking and the CRM platform. These integration points supported single sign on, calendar synchronization with Outlook 365, payroll and statutory reporting feeds and end to end data flows between HCM and adjacent finance and procurement systems.
Governance and rollout were formalized through liaison with Architectural Boards, Business Design Authorities, the Data Office, Test Service Providers and functional SMEs, with a detailed cutover plan covering pre cutover, cutover and post cutover activities. Testing was managed by designated test managers and included engagements with third party test automation solutions, while adoption was driven by a defined training and communication strategy and bi weekly programme board reviews to provide senior stakeholder oversight.

Technical work included configuration and testing of telephone routes and answer groups within Genesys Cloud CX, plus creation and refinement of eGain email groups, email routing, and automated email responses. The project emphasized routing rules and queue definitions as primary functional modules, with configuration activities focused on balancing technical complexity and cost while meeting agreed business requirements.
Operational integration was managed alongside existing Avaya telephony systems, with technicians validating call flows across both Avaya and Genesys platforms. Activities included end to end testing of routes and answer groups and coordination with the business to agree changes to routing behavior and agent group assignments.
Governance and rollout followed a business-led change process, where requirements were gathered from stakeholders, proposed routing changes were assessed for cost versus benefit, and agreed solutions were delivered and tested on schedule and budget. Rationalization of eGain groups and replacement of routing rules were completed through staged review and approval, embedding new routing governance into contact center operations.
