In 2013, the Ministry of Justice implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial solution to support the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority's stand-alone SUN Accounts. The deployment centralized responsibility for timely and accurate production of financial and management information and for delivering CICA key performance indicators.
Infor SunSystems was configured to support core general ledger processing, account reconciliations and management reporting, with the Query & Analysis reporting tool managed as the principal reporting layer. The team maintained the technical content of SUN Accounts and instituted configuration reviews and enhancements to align the Infor SunSystems financial modules with emerging business requirements.
Operational scope concentrated on accounting functions within CICA, including oversight of payroll reconciliations, bank reconciliations and other reconciliation objectives, while providing accounting support for business improvement initiatives and alternative assumption costing. The implementation embedded those workflows into the ERP Financial environment to ensure consistent management information and control across CICA finance operations.
Governance followed a technical stewardship model that maintained system integrity, controlled Query & Analysis reporting content and scheduled continual functional reviews. Responsibilities included ongoing maintenance of SUN Accounts, management of reporting tool capabilities and oversight of reconciliation processes to keep the ERP Financial system aligned with operational and management reporting needs.
